Then there was 1969, 1984, 1989, 1998, 2003, 2007, 2008, and 2015. Though all were disappointing, 1969, 1984 and 2003 left special wounds and were extra painful. But, that's all history now! It's on to Cleveland . . . Go Cubs! Could it be coincidence that on this historic day, the Evil Empire also lost? Perhaps, this is the beginning of the apocalypse. I hope it doesn't propel the winner to become the next Red Sox (Yankees light) with fans thinking they represent the little guy when they have a 200 million dollar payroll.
