Rozier was smoother, though, and lost less speed during cutbacks. Carson is better in his Senior film than he is in his Junior film, and I think he'll continue to improve.

This link has Carson headed to JC at Georgia Military College.

http://lilburn.patch.com/articles/football-scholarship-co...

Unclear if we sign him hoping he'll qualify or we're placing him there...or neither.

How can they close someone who isn't qualified? Unless you think he opted for Georgia Military College over Ohio.

Yes, the key question now is will Ohio be able to get him back from there in a couple years. I'm hoping the answer is yes. I'd still like to see him and Dorian Brown as a 1-2 punch.

It isn't surprising to me that he's done well. Ohio has recruited some high quality backs the last few years. If the offensive line gels this year, as I think it will, they are going to post some great numbers this fall.

Recruited? Or actually landed?

Are we now giving credit for merely recruiting a young man, without actually being able to bring him on??

Ohio had a commitment from Carson, but he failed to qualify. When that has happened, Ohio has sometimes been able to get the players back to Athens after Junior College, but sometimes players get "found" by other schools based on their strong performances in Junior College.

So, you're saying that we never actually landed him (brought in and had him on the team)?

Would this be akin to judging this coaching staff on its accomplishments instead of projections?

They recruited him and secured a commitment that is a notch regardless of what you think. Relationships and networking matter in recruiting they help place the kids into the Juco also.

There is some minor value in those things.

But, unfortunately, the hard reality is that this is business. This is a real thing with lots of money tied to it.

So, again unfortunately, no credit given for 'almost.' It's definite results that matter.

It may be unfortunate that this is so. But everyone knows it's so. And the coaches--at least the head coach--is paid very well in respect of the challenge.

So, the challenge needs to be met...not almost or sort of met.

I don't know many working people who get paid for half-way, almost results.

Seven times Huskers earned first-team CoSIDA Academic All-America honors and on four other occasions, second-team honors were bestowed.

The coaches did all they could, and successfully recruited him. Unfortunately he didn't do his part, and didn't get eligible. Then the coaches once again did their part, and helped place him in JUCO. Once there, he got other offers, and ended up somewhere else. The point here is that the coaches identified a good player, and recruited him successfully, but for reasons beyond their control, it did not work out.

They also have recruited some other very fine backs who did qualify academically, and I think Ohio is loaded at that position at the moment. I think we're going to see very good years from AJ, Irons, and Dorian Brown this year.

Why don't we just erect the statue outside of Peden or Cutler Hall to Solich and his recruiters right now, then, for their tremendous record of bringing in recruits and winning MAC titles.

You can keep on writing really posts in great volume and length--really, you can--but it does nothing to abate the fact that Solich and staff are mediocre....until such time as results on the field prove differently.

Congratulations. Your record of irrational support of this coaching staff and posts about 100% devoid of facts, reasoning and logic is intact.

Which of these terrific performances from last year did you like best: loss to WMU 49-14, loss to Buffalo 41-17, or loss to BGSU 62-24.

Of course, you can join other poster in paroxysms of joy at how the O-line really started clicking in the 2nd half of that BGSU game. That's what matters; a 62-24 loss in no way dims the luster of this staff.

Keep being weird, my man. Stay weird.
