I assume we are thin at TE so we are plugging him in there for 2015. Otherwise I would expect he would be on the DL like he was most of the time at Michigan.
Three year letterman and experienced player.

Well, that's where he's listed for now. We'll see where he ends up, but yes, they have been thin at TE, which has traditionally been a position of strength for Ohio. With Boland gone, this will help, and TE should be a solid position this fall with Mangen, Morgan, and Heitzman, along with Connor Brown, Yoho and Carter, and I think they made Rodriquez a tight end.

I love it. MAC DEs can look forward to seeing a converted DE from Michigan across the line. Should be some surprised DEs & LBs. Kieth is not here to catch a bunch of TDs, he is in to get into the face of some hotshot DEs.

Why is he eligible this year? Did he graduate from UM? Notice his major was evolutionary anthropology. Sweet.

Yes, he's a Grad student, so he's eligible immediately. That's a rule that has been working in Ohio's favor, for sure.

Kind of makes sense, close to home, was offered by Ohio out of high school and he knows whichever position he plays, will see the field. Smart guy.

Reading the Michigan boards it sounds like he switched to TE last year with them lacking depth there following injuries.

This year, a lot of guys are back at TE from injury and also Harbaugh recruited TE heavily looking for pass catching types. They were all pretty complimentary of Heitzman's blocking ability. I like this, experienced blocker who can come in and help what appears to be our best offense line in years. With our stable of backs, and now this, I'm really starting to get excited about our running game this year. Who doesn't love a Frank Solich team that is capable of running on anyone?

I've seen crazier things happen.

I thought that this graduate transfer rule was being phased out. I hope I'm wrong about that because it has really worked to our advantage in the Solich Era.

This rule was discussed at the last NCAA meeting. The coaches love it, so the status quo was maintained. Doesn't mean they won't look at it again, tho...
