Here is his hudl.

He has offers from Air Force, Colgate, Toledo, Western Michigan, and Yale. He's rated 3 stars by Scout.com.

Saw him play last year against Tallmadge and he was the best player on the field. Solid D-1 prospect.

Nordonia will send multiple guys to D-1 programs this year. Alders is the best playmaker of the group, IMO. I would be very happy if he signed to play at Ohio.

Nordonia is undefeated. They beat undefeated Perrysburg in regional semifinals last night 56-52.

Alders had 100+ receiving yards and 4 TD's including a game-winning kickoff return.

I really hope he ends up a Bobcat!

Think he has committed to play baseball at Eastern Michigan.

We lost a guy to EMU baseball?

Is that a punchline?

What does Casper71 have to say about that?!

Monroe, I have never disclosed this on BA but I was "associated" (walk on/ bench warmer) with OHIO baseball during my time in Athens. Of course, the team was a MAC champ and NCAA team in the "good old days"!

A baseball career can be a lot longer and more lucrative (if you can play) than a Football one so I don't blame the kid. I would have liked his 3-stars playing football for OHIO though.

Casper,
You should have sat closer to Schmidt and maybe you could have hit one off of Grover Center. I had the good fortune of seeing Mike Schmidt both in Athens and here in Philadelphia.

Must be a great memory!

Baseball owes coach Solich a good one, 1999, Carl Crawford signed a football letter of intent to play QB for coach Solich's Huskers. The 4X All Star obviously made a wise choice when he picked baseball instead.

The young man simply needs to join Dixon's clan of WRs. No better place for a receiver in the MAC.

Ah, 72...those were the good old days. I've got some stories that I only tell the grandkids. But, let's just say the most important one is: Mike Schmidt worked harder than anyone I had ever seen to become a great hitter. He put a few onto the Grover roof off of me that probably hastened the end of my pitching career at OHIO!

Speaking of Mike Schmidt, it was great to see him get honored during Homecoming Weekend, long overdue. Wonder what he thought of the campus when he came back? Anyway, obviously a great alumnus.

Remember the "Bo knows...." commercials? I'm thinking that in retrospect, Bo knows he'd have had a lot longer career and made a lot more money if he'd have stuck to just Baseball.

Each kid has a game that is a favorite, and inevitably a time comes to choose. TT choose football over the baseball that his father played. Vick chose football over basketball his father played. If Alders likes Baseball, wish him well (but he still should have chosen Ohio).

Agreed 100%. Great fit for both sides.

I know some schools are looking at Alders as a S or LB. Not sure which he prefers. On both sides of the ball, this kid can play.

Nordonia blows out undefeated Midview 52-14. They have a rematch with Mayfield in the state semifinal next week. Nordonia beat Mayfield in a close game earlier this season. Mayfield beat Bedford this week who we have 2 commits on.
Not sure on Alders total stats. Pretty sure he had 2 receiving TD's and 1 pick to go along with a bunch of yards and tackles.

Across the field from Alders at WR is OSU commit Denzel Ward. We offered him too. He is much smaller than Alders but he runs sub 4.4 so they make a good combo.

Nordonia blows out Mayfield and moves to b state finals. Alders had a TD before leaving the game after a big hit. I haven't heard if he can go in the state championship against Cincinnati La Salle.

Per his twitter, he is now a Bobcat.

This is a big get, whether he plays WR or LB/S I am not sure. Either way, this kid can play.

Alders gives up trying to hit a curve ball after a 90 mile an hour fast ball and instead focuses on hitting WR and running backs as he moves to safety and earns all conference as a true freshman. These Suburban League kids know how to hit--they have faced a regular diet of solid offenses and Alders helped shut em down. The new talk of the MAC by wideouts and slots will be, "I ain't going across the middle when we play the Bobcats, that Alders dude makes you pay"

He obviously liked the color green and wanted it for four more seasons. Welcome!
