Crossover games are all on Nov 4, the first game of the season:

Ball State at Fiami
Eastern Michigan at Kent State
Western Michigan at Akron
Bowling Green at Toledo
Buffalo at Northern Illinois
Ohio at Central Michigan

WMU would seem to get the best deal, playing Akron. They were supposed to play at Kent this year, but I don't they were supposed to play Akron.

Even though CMU has been having personnel issues this fall, they always seem to have our number. That'll be a tough game.

After the first week, East teams play on Tuesday, West teams on Wednesday, until Thanksgiving. No Friday games Thanksgiving weekend, which is a bit surprising.

is it 100% sure the no fan policy is in stone or is there any chance a socially distanced, masked and bundled up crowd can eventually attend?

Is it even being discussed?

A paragraph below from an email received Saturday from the athletics director. Reading between the lines it appears to me there is some chance however small it may be.

"The Mid-American Conference will be releasing the 2020 fall football schedule next week. As of now, the MAC has stipulated that there will be no general public attendance or tailgating allowed at games. Under this initial guidance, we are actively working with our local public health authorities to refine event plans for three home games in Peden Stadium and we hope to be able to broadly communicate those plans in the next few weeks."

I would be very, very surprised if anything is "set in stone" at this point. A month ago there were no games. Now there are. A month from now, maybe there will be fans, or maybe there will be no more games. Who knows?

My main reason for posting what the athletics director said in her email was to point out what the MAC's official position is on fans at this point and also to point out that they are apparently leaving the door open for a change in this position as pandemic conditions warrant. I agree there are multiple scenarios possible for what happens in the coming weeks and months that will affect decisions on fan attendance as well as virtually all other elements of the return of athletics.

The MAC states will have to improve a lot before fans will be allowed in. All five states have been trending up during the past few weeks and all averaged more than 1,000 new cases last week. That's not going to help get restrictions eased.

Covid rates could also affect teams' travel to other states. Indiana is close to being travel restricted for Ohio (it's had a 13% increase last week; the restriction kicks in at 15%) and Illinois is on NY's list, so that would affect the Buffalo-NIU game. If Ohio continues to have increases, it might get on NY's list, which would affect Buffalo's entire schedule.

I'd rather they just say no fans and keep it at that.

The Bengals and Browns are each allowed 12,000 fans (up from 6000 last week). I would think the MAC will allow some fans eventually.

No back-to-back road games. In a shortened season that's a huge plus.

We will be in Detroit this year. First is our MACC win over Toledo. Armani Rogers MVP. And then the Quick Lane Bowl against this year's 6-6 team. INDIANA. We win on a comeback last second field goal by "I dont know who yet." Lol!

I think Ohio will win the East and I do think OU will win the MACC. It also wouldn't surprise me to see Rogers emerge as a POY candidate.

Bengals were allowed zero in week one! 6,000 last home game.

Anyone have any idea how this will work for television that first night? My guess is one game each on ESPN2, ESPNU, and CBSS w/ the other three on ESPN+ but I could also see 6:00 o'clock kickoffs for half w/ 9:00 kickoffs for the remainder and a doubleheader on each station. But, also, with Covid in play, all them could wind up on some channel w/ ESPN Classic and good ol' fashioned ESPN in there as well...

My heart wants to agree with that crystal ball.

My mind and experience thinks 4-2 is the ceiling, with 3-3 or, gasp, 2-4 more likely.

Let's not forget that the season kicks off in November, which as a month not been Frank's finest body of work over his tenure. It's where many a championship dream has gone to die, usually in some kind of painful, walk-off fashion.

I say that somewhat jokingly as injury, fatigue etc. won't be in play as much as there won't be two months of grind leading into it like normal. A win in Mt. Pleasant would be a great way to launch the season as wins are not a common thing there.

Please, prove me wrong, Bobcats!

Should Bobcat/MAC fans sign up for ESPN+ in 2020-21? Typically, I subscribe during college football and basketball seasons and roughly 90% to 95% of the content I watch is MAC football/basketball. I ended the subscription in March and haven't renewed yet. Waiting on more info before deciding when (if) to renew again.

Rogers hasn't even played a down in an Ohio uniform and we're talking POY candidate? Cmon guys. Beat CMU on the road first. Then we can talk.

I don't see ESPN loading up on MAC across its main channels on Nov 4. I think the best we can hope for is one game at 6:00, probably on ESPNU (most likely, EMU-Kent), one game at 7:30 on ESPN or ESPN2 (probably either BG-Toledo or BSU-Fiami), and then Buffalo-NIU at 9:30 (8:30 in Dekalb) on ESPNU, possibly ESPN or ESPN2, whichever isn't carrying the 7:30 game. The rest will be on ESPN+.

ESPN+ availability brings up the question: Do we rely on students for camera work on ESPN+ for football like we do b-ball? If so, are there mass media majors on campus to work them? Home b-ball games aren't televised during school breaks because nobody's on campus to work the cameras and some of the other tech. If we rely on students for ESPN+ games, we could be SOL for televised home games, especially after Nov 20, when everybody's on remote learning.

Good points. Looking at what ESPN has to offer, especially with no NHL, NBA or MLB seasons in play next month makes me hopeful. I was also hoping that since I have no season tickets this year I could watch each game in the comfort of my own cave. That said, I only subscribe to services for the months I need them so it's possible I could go through an entire football season without having to bother with ESPN and ESPN provider and I'm quite fine with that.

Don't be shocked if Rourke is the starter for the first game. Rogers has not been on campus that long.

I thought that either all of the crossover games would be the first week to act as the tune-up game for the division or all of them would be in the final week so that they could be cancelled and replaced with a missed division game if required. The former is the case. So what are the odds of every division game actually happening? What will they do to determine the winner if they are not all played?
