So this leaves Kurtis Rourke and incoming recruit CJ Harris as the only QB's in 2020?....I hope there is a backup plan in place as you cannot enter a season with anything less than 4 QB's....and it is an even bigger problem attempting to bring 3 recruits in at QB in one class, not to mention having nothing but true Freshman as backups.....Anyone know if the coaching staff has any plans or targets to rectify this increasingly desperate roster management issue?

Drew Keszei back to QB, then?

Man, the track record for this staff's HS QBs is less than impressive. Really only hit solidly on Tettleton, right? Maybe Vick, I guess, but not much else.

I'm sure this has been discussed but:

1.Can a kid change his mind, withdraw from the transfer portal and stay at O.U. ?

2.Can they play in the bowl game ?

There have been rumors about a grad transfer.
Maybe this has something to do with that,or,if Rourke seems like a lock at QB,they'd prefer to see if they can go to school where they have a better shot at starting.

I seem to remember that there was this Kid from Athens, who some thought should just be content with just riding the bench at Ohio State University. I wonder what ever happened to that guy? Thanks to the Transfer Portal, kids don't have to get stuck in one system or situation as it should be in life.

Looking at the 247 transfer portal it looks like you can enter the portal and stay with your school. I honestly thought Yates was suspended from the team - but he is still listed on the 2019 roster. It's not ideal but I think Kurtis will have better career than Mischler

Keszei for sure.

As I mentioned on the recruiting forum adding JUCO and a grad transfer are definite maybes.

Kid from Athens was a Graduate, a bit different. But get your point

One, or both, will be coming.

He is, and the coaches expect him to be even better than his brother before he 's all done in Athens. That said, I believe Mischler not only knows he's behind Rourke, but he's aware of the soon to be announced QB's that will be coming in Athens as well. I'm guessing the coaching staff made him aware of it and he's going this route now to figure things out on his end. Rourke is the future at the QB spot but he's going to have some competition in his first year with these experienced guys coming in as well.

Both would be amazing and with just about everyone else returning should cause other MAC teams a sleepless night or two.

That's what I thought too. Every indication was that Mischler was going to get a chance to compete for the job.

There seem to be constant whispers about a grad transfer on here. Is there a specific name attached to this?

And he might even had been put third behind rookie CJ Harris.

Rhode Island QB Vito Priore played here....did ok.

Does he want to come here?

Do we want him to come here?

Stay tuned.

This has been discussed elsewhere on here. He says he wants a pro style offense which we are not there. Seems not likely, but he may change what he wants in a new place

Ahh, the football equivalent to the Ohio basketball team being "the one team no one wants to meet in March" statement. Gotta love it.

Yeah.....I think the basketball team has won more games already than most predicted all year.

I'll make my prediction now that Mischler ends up at a D-II School in the PSAC Conference--Like IUP or Edinboro. I don't think that he gets any D-I scholarship interest at this point. He is from PA and had a lot of high school success. Just a logical hunch.

He had multiple offers from Ivy League schools, if possible he’d be happy to get to play there

Any interest in talent in SE Ohio? I understand the QB at Jackson HS has paid one or more visits to campus. I'm under the impression at that time the staff was pleased with what they saw from him but indicated there was "no room at the inn" at that time...prior to the transfer portal transfers. I wonder if that'll change now?

He’s a definite dual threat QB.

You can't blame them. It is clearly Kurtis Rourke's job. If they want to play, they had to look elsewhere.

Jackson's best QB is a freshman. The one who just graduated is not a scholarship quality QB. Maybe another position though. Jackson also has a Junior who has been to campus several times and holds an offer from Akron.

It won't be hard selling next year's offense to a grad transfer. Wideouts Hooks, Cox, Odom, Buckner, Tupa, Walton...Luehrmanns back at TE and 3 headed rushing monster in Allison, Tuggle and Ross. Toss in Kittrell, Sink and Meservy with experience back and we are very appealing. Kurtis may be able to run this offense but a grad transfer could have some fun with these guys.
