There have been rumors about a grad transfer. Maybe this has something to do with that,or,if Rourke seems like a lock at QB,they'd prefer to see if they can go to school where they have a better shot at starting. Looking at the 247 transfer portal it looks like you can enter the portal and stay with your school. I honestly thought Yates was suspended from the team - but he is still listed on the 2019 roster. That said, I believe Mischler not only knows he's behind Rourke, but he's aware of the soon to be announced QB's that will be coming in Athens as well. I'm guessing the coaching staff made him aware of it and he's going this route now to figure things out on his end. Rourke is the future at the QB spot but he's going to have some competition in his first year with these experienced guys coming in as well. I don't think that he gets any D-I scholarship interest at this point. He is from PA and had a lot of high school success. Just a logical hunch. I'm under the impression at that time the staff was pleased with what they saw from him but indicated there was "no room at the inn" at that time...prior to the transfer portal transfers. I wonder if that'll change now? He’s a definite dual threat QB. Jackson's best QB is a freshman. The one who just graduated is not a scholarship quality QB. Maybe another position though. Jackson also has a Junior who has been to campus several times and holds an offer from Akron. Wideouts Hooks, Cox, Odom, Buckner, Tupa, Walton...Luehrmanns back at TE and 3 headed rushing monster in Allison, Tuggle and Ross. Toss in Kittrell, Sink and Meservy with experience back and we are very appealing. Kurtis may be able to run this offense but a grad transfer could have some fun with these guys.
