Correct.

Per NFL.com players by school invited are:

CMU - 2
NIU - 2
Buffalo - 2
Toledo - 2
Akron - 1
EMU - 1

Joe Lowery not being invited is surprising.

He was listed as accepting an invitation to the NFLPA game but wasn't on either team's roster. Could he be injured?

Blame the most tenured coaching staff in the MAC.

Fine. Blame them for no combine invites. Yet can there be credit for four 1st team All MAC and at least three 2nd team All MAC. MACs leading rusher and on ... Recent play has plenty of credit to outweigh the blame you will will feel the need to present.

According to an espn.com article re players from 1999-2008 and asteelersdepot.com article re players from 2007-2015, the number of players not at the combine but that were still drafted is shrinking but still significant. The ESPN data for the years 1999-2008 showed about 40% of the players drafted each year were non-invitees to the combine. The steelersdepot.com for players drafted from 2007-2015 showed about 20% of the players drafted were non-participants at the combine (most non-invitees and a small number of invitees who didn't participate).

The data listed showed that (surprise!) non-invitees were not likely to be drafted in the first two rounds.

I was surprised Joe Lowery and Papi did not get invites and would be surprised if Lowery does not get drafted by the 4-5th round. Ht/Wt prejudice probably held Papi back although he is an nfl talent if he can get his wt to the mid-high 180s. in the games we played against teams who were in or got votes for the top 25 last year (VA, Cinci, Buffalo), no one stopped Papi. I cant recall anyone over the course of Papi's career who could really contain him.

I hope AJ and Joe Anderson get looks. Nothing would make me happier than to see AJ get drafted: no one I've heard of has earned it more. And I think AJ is just starting to play his best ball and is an all-around back. The last bowl game is a great example of his all-around back status: he pass blocked and caught and ran the ball well.

Mike Mitchell got picked 47th overall and didn't go to the combine. Julian Edelman and James Harrison didn't get invites. The MAC sometimes doesn't get combine respect--no matter how long the coaches have been around.

As of Sept 2018, the percentage of players who played in the MAC who were on an NFL roster or practice squad was a little over 3% and the number of MAC invitees to the combine was just under 3% so that seems pretty consistent in that respect.

Ohio's OLine should have gotten some play at the combine.

Ohio had historic years in 2017 and 2018 in terms of MAC running production for a single season and all-time (since 1962 per sports-reference.com). In 2018, the MAC had a total of 5 RBs with over 100 carries who averaged over 6 yards per carry: the top three were from Ohio. Including 2017 and 2018, Ohio had 3 of the highest all-time MAC rushers re YPC per season: #8 all-time Dorian Brown, 6.8ypc and tied for #12 all-time Nathan Rourke and Maleek Irons, 6.6ypc.

Below is from NFL.com FAQ section for how players are chosen for the combine:

'All 32 NFL teams are invited to provide input on draft-eligible players which is used by the Player Selection Committee to select each year’s participants. The Directors of both National and BLESTO scouting services, which combined represent 28 NFL teams, are joined by members of various NFL player personnel departments to form the committee. The participating NFL executives can rotate on a yearly basis, and remain anonymous. ALL eligible players are reviewed and voted on by the committee members. Each athlete receiving the necessary number of votes, by position, is then extended an invitation. While it is not a perfect science, the goal of the committee is to invite every player that will be drafted in the ensuing NFL Draft.'

And, there is your answer. It is not expected that any Ohio player will be drafted this year. That said, it only takes two teams that want a player, and they can get drafted, as we saw in the case of Michael Mitchell.
