I appreciate everything Coach Burrow has done. Amazing man with a plethora of ideas to stopping defenses. Good luck in retirement coach!

Is Coach Collins ready to step in his shoes or should we have gone after someone else?

After being Defensive Coordinator at Washington University for 13 years, Collins had an impressive four year run at Boise State (2002-5), and then moved up to the Colorado Buffaloes from 2006-10 under Dan Hawkins. After Hawkins was replaced, Collins landed at Ohio, where he has done an outstanding job with Ohio's linebackers, and as the Assistant Defensive Coordinator.

I think he's up to the job.

The Bobcats are losing one heck of guy, and one heck of a D.C.! He has developed his defense player after player after player. His kids were always better the deeper into the season. Huge shoes to fill here.
Enjoy your retirement, see you down on the bayou! Geaux Tigers !

LSU and OU are two very different teams that I doubt will plan any time soon. More importantly his son, who grew up in Athens, plays for LSU. Geuax Joe!

So does the LB coach come from the current staff or are there candidates with connections to the current staff floating around college football?

I'll a big Thank You as well. In my first ten years as a Bobcat football fan the team's record was something like 20-80. Thank you for all your work in re-establishing this program and making Ohio football fun.

Im sure I'm not the only one who cheers for multiple NCAA teams on here.

For a variety of reasons I also cheer for, in all things:

UC
Tennessee
Clemson

If and when Ohio plays any of these I always cheer for the Bobcats but usually their paths don't cross too often.

I root for PSU in football and wrestling and for Iowa in wrestling.

I also root for any team going against Rutgers in any sport.

From what I read in Arkley's Messenger article, it looks like Collins will remain the LB position coach and they will be looking for a new coach for the Safeties.

In the same article it confirms Burrow's primary motivation was the ability to attend games for Joe's last season at LSU. He has no plans to leave Athens, and is not ruling out returning to coaching.

Well . . . the plot thickens . . . maybe Albin is not the heir apparent to Frank that it seemed just yesterday. Or, maybe Burrow will be the next coach at Alexander High School. The mind boggles! ;-)

Agreed. Seems like a class person. There was also a great article about Coach Burrow in the Post. I think he really loves Athens and Ohio University.

That should be a resume builder for you. Like saying in 2017 I root for any team playing the Browns.

Eight year in the program and a veteran coach with DC experience at a P5 program. Frank has his successors apparently but it turned out to be for his coordinators and not him.

I root for other teams as well gentlemen. But out of respect for the Bobcats I don’t do it on Ohio’s fan site.
