I know I wasnt. Hahaha! The Denzel kid will be a stud. Just hope he doesn't grad-transfer back to Miami Hurricanes and stay at OU. I can't wait to see our D-Line next year.

You know, now that I think about it, Todd Snyder should probably be on that list. I'm not sure how they ranked recruits back in the day, but he had offers from all sorts of "big name" schools, including the Evil Empire in Cowtown. In fact, at the North-South game in Canton, one Wayne Woodrow Hayes was slobbering all over him and was reportedly "shocked" that Todd was forsaking an offer from The OSU to go to "lowly Ohio U." I wonder if there was ever any other Ohio kid who refused a football scholarship to OSU to go to Ohio. He's the only one that I'm aware of.

A total Athens, Ohio legend, who is second to none (with, perhaps, the merging possibility that Joe Burrow might match or even surpass him).

Thanks, BTC. I have hard copies of both of these stowed away in some nook or cranny in my home also, but it's nice to have access to online copies. I appreciate the gesture. I just re-read them. These stories always bring a smile to my face.

Wow, great articles.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

I think you were a Street and Smith all-American and turned down some big schools.
