Frank Solich will lead the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) in 2019 as president of the organization. Solich, who moves up from first vice-president, succeeds outgoing president Bill Cronin of Georgetown (Ky.) College. Solich was elected president by members attending the Association's 2019 convention this week in San Antonio, Texas.

"It's an honor to be President of the American Football Coaches Association," said Solich. "We will strive as a group of coaches to continue to work for the betterment of our student-athletes and the great game of football."

Past Presidents list is like a who's who of college football coaches.
Election to position shows respect and trust of fellow coaches.

Many fans appreciate what Coach Solich has done for the Bobcats. Although there a few naysayers that think Ohio could do better. Put me in the corner that says this university will really miss Frank when he decides to retire. Only one season since 1969 has Ohio won 8 or more games without Coach Solich coaching this university. Coach Grobe accomplished this once in 1997. Sure the Ohio football team plays 12 regular season games now compared to 11 several seasons ago, but this program is leaps and bounds ahead of what it was many years ago. Since 2006 Frank has won 8 or more games nine seasons. Alot better than what it was. Congrats for Coach on his AFCA president nomination! Go Bobcats!

We have all recieved the short end of the stick in life to varying degrees, but those are the times where we are faced with a decision: To give into the bitterness and let it make us falter into the future or to take the high road and continue to plot along believing in what has gotten us this far while not being afraid of change where necessary.

Frank Solich very obviously took the high road and can serve as an example to inspire others. This makes me find it all the more sweeter when he receives recognition like this. It shows hard work really pays off and people will stand up and take notice.
