Use this thread to talk about anything travel-related (Bobcat Bash, ticket info, hotels, places to eat/drink).

Free tickets according to OhioBobcats.com.

Vanderbilt Stadium Policies

BobcatAttack Tailgate: Everyone is invited to the BobcatAttack tailgate. Thanks to the efforts of Pete Chouteau, we have secured materials for 80 cheese coneys. Plan is to tailgate in the Natchez lot. Exact location will be posted Saturday morning. Or message me through this site. Would love to meet some Bobcat fans in Nashville!

Also: OHIO Football's Saturday, Sept. 15, game against Virginia has been relocated to Vanderbilt Stadium on the campus of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. The venue change was made due to the threat of severe weather associated with Hurricane Florence, and to provide emergency personnel with the ability to focus on the needs of the region's citizens throughout the weekend. Click here for additional details.

Kickoff will be at 4:30 p.m. EST (3:30 p.m. CST in Nashville). Admission to the game at Vanderbilt Stadium will be free.

Join us before the game for a tailgate at Park 25 Bistro! We are partnering with the Middle Tennessee Alumni Chapter to provide free appetizers beginning at 1 p.m. Park 25 Bistro is located at 2555 West End Ave., inside the Nashville Marriott at Vanderbilt University.

I'll be going as well. It's only a three hour drive for me so I couldn't pass on this opportunity.

My girlfriend and I plan on attending the Bobcat Bash prior to the game. Looking forward to meeting some fellow Bobcat fans!

Anyone have a line on tailgate parking for visitors?

For you folks coming from the west which includes Athens, this winery is very good.

For something different, they also have polo on Sunday.

Parking
Don't have a reserved parking pass? There are plenty of public parking options around Grounds within a 20-minute walk of Scott Stadium. The Fontaine Research Park (FREE) has a nicely lit, pedestrian walkway that leads you to the southwest side of Scott Stadium. This lot typically fills up close to kickoff, so if you plan to park here, arrive early! Approximate walking time is 20 minutes.

FREE parking is also available in the University Hall and John Paul Jones Arena lots. Simply walk south on Alderman Road from these lots. Be sure to stop by the Aquatic and Fitness Center (AFC) for Cavalier Fan Fest! Approximate walking time is 20 minutes.

Tailgating
The Fontaine and U-Hall/JPJA lots open three hours prior to kickoff. Tailgating is permitted, including the use of propane grills. Charcoal grills are not allowed. Please note that grilling of any kind is not allowed in any of the parking garages.

I am ready to purchase tickets. Does anyone know which section the "Ohio Ticket Office" purchased tickets will be in? One can purchase section 106 for $23 plus fees per ticket but I'd rather get them through Ohio's ticket office.

The visitor ticket section is normally section 114 in the corner of the closed section. The tunnel that Bobcat will enter is in that corner.

While I'm not going to the game, I've been there. I can confirm it's quite good, and the polo experience was very cool. Nearby that one is another one, owned by a couple from Cincinnati (at least it was 5 years ago when I was there) called Pollak Vineyards.

A little further down the road from Pollak are a couple breweries, and cider places, and several wineries. It's a fantastic area in and around C-Ville and Waynesboro. Driving Skyline Drive is fantastic as well if you like the mountains.

Directly south of C-ville is another Winery I'd recommend called Blenheim Vineyards, owned by Dave Matthews - yes, that Dave Matthews.

Just west of town is Starr Hill Brewery .... Dave Matthews brewery. Yes, same Dave Matthews. Ha!

Will be in Charlottesville +5 ... looking forward to the visit. Drove thru about 20 years ago and remembered thinking "this was one of the few campus' that rivaled Athens" in terms of beauty. Wondering if it's still the same?

Just hoping the results on the field make the trip worthwhile ... if not, I guess I can drink a lot of Dave Matthews beer.

When my wife and I were there, we never made it to Starr. We did hit up the other one - Blue Mountain Brewery. And we REALLY enjoyed Bold Rock Cider.

Wait.  We don't get Sports Time Ohio in Virginia?  Are you kidding?

Finally after living in Charlottesville for 7 years, I get to see Ohio come to town.

In the past couple of years, there has been an explosion of breweries in the area, below are some that are in walking distance of the downtown mall.

-Three Notch'd (A personal favorite)
-Champion
-Random Row
-South Street
-Hardywood

Ill be at the bash as well as several of the other hosted events that week.

Have you been to Littlejohn's? My daughter's Godfather owns that. Peyton Manning had a Littlejohn's reference when he gave the commencement a few years ago.

The forecast is still early, but not promising. Some of these hurricanes will end up dumping as much or more rain in the Roanoke Valley than along the coast.

Yeah...

I'm concerned about the weather, too. I really hope the hurricane changes course and heads back out to sea... but it's not looking too likely.

The biggest variable in all of these weather forecasting models is time, but as it stands now it certainly looks like there is a reasonable possibility they decide to cancel the polo match.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Posted this on the other thread my wife is on the UVA Alumni email list and they just sent out parking information for Saturday and the rest of the season.

UVA's margin for error to get to six wins to be bowl eligible is really slim after loosing to Indiana so I assume they will do everything possible to get this game in Saturday or Sunday. The region is really soaked from high amounts of rainfall this year.

Since we already had our bye week, an agreed upon open date may be difficult to get set up.
I doubt if Sunday will make much difference if the storm is as large as predicted.
Similar to Akron vs Nebraska in that hotels and charters are expensive and not always available on short notice.

Lets hope they find a way to get it played.

Since Virginia has already declared a state of emergency, I wouldn't be surprised to see this get postponed/cancelled.

UNC, NC State, App State and Va Tech are at home Saturday. Their decisions will probably be a pretty good guide as to what UVA does.
