Was in town for Memorial Day and between Irons being suspended and I presume not being able to get home as regularly this kid is YUGE. He has camped out in the weightroom it appears and is insanely cut up. I was jogging near Ping and he was on a bicycle headed toward Peden it was a ghost town no students, buildings closed literally no one around at all. I said hi he just smiled and gave me a nod. I thinks something is brewing if he stays healthy.

He’s fast and he’s a load.

I wish him the best of luck and when he’s on the field with Rourke a rousing Oh Canada 🇨🇦 is in order.

That is great to hear. Even if AJ is healthy all year, the number two back at Ohio will get 100+ carries if productive; clearly, Ohio coaching believes in using two backs to maximize season-long performance by minimizing unnecessary wear-and-tear. Big shoes to fill for Irons with Dorian Brown averaging over 6 yards a carry.

If Ross comes in and is not clearly the number two over Irons I would like to see Irons and redshirt Ross. A redshirt would help Ross prepare for a chance for a bigger role next year.

Ross is gonna be good he may not redshirted due to special teams but both AJ and Mallek have seen injuries

Agreed. I'm just hoping Ross can redshirt only cause I feel there is gonna be a stronger need for him in the future and he is a dude I think can especially benefit from the extra year.

When talking about Maleek , Frank will always make mention of the fact that he has quick feet and exceptional footwork.
Hopefully it all comes together for him so he can have a breakout season this year.

Irons said on the coach's radio show earlier this week that Ohio was "the better team" against Virginia. Really, Maleek? This and many other things he has done or said make me seriously question his mental approach to football. Glad to hear he's bulked up, though, if it can help his game.

i am the person who commented on Maleek being an outstanding TB before i think ever playing a down at Ohio.

i agree that comment about "being the better team" vs. Virginia is absurd.

given his behavioural history, i think Maleek has alot of growing up to do and may never do it.

Ohio was the better team and I am glad a fitfth year senior has confidence. Stick to reporting the bad news. Go cats

Instead of criticizing the young man for believing in his team, my questions is: Why the &*#$% isn't he starting and getting the majority of carries. He is tough to bring down, break away speed, double the yards per carry over AJ, and refuses to got down. AJ, unfortunately, goes down way too easy. Why are we keeping this all-MAC back off the field?

They are both pretty good, AJ does not go down easy. Irons has better vision, oulette has done a good job over his career. Let’s go Cats

so if a nebraska player said they were the better team today vs. michigan, that's confidence in your team?

i'd say that's delusional....... to put it nicely.. he needed to earn it on the field, not make some completely unrealistic self-absorbed statement

virginia had 200+ more yards and 10 more first downs than ohio and the cavs slowed down alot with a big lead halfway through the game i.e. the huge yardage differential flattered ohio.

I don't think Frank is going to start Maleek. I agree that Irons had some good runs against Cincinnati, and will probably get more touches because if it, but he's not going to start. AJ is the leader of this team. He works harder than anybody else and is also a pretty darn good running back. Irons has hurt the team twice with his bone-headed off the field behavior. The first time, maybe you could write off to kids doing stupid things, but the second time, inexcusable. Way too much of a character difference between the two and Frank is a character guy.

I agree with AJ starting, but not with the premise because Irons is a bad person. He could have transferred, but he stuck with the team, showing extreme loyalty. Irons made a mistake, he is not a bonehead because of two mistakes, we all would be. Frank will probably go with the hot hand. He is not petty, he has made mistakes himself.

Actually, the team showed loyalty to him. That's why he's still here. That being said, I hope he has a tremendous rest of the season and matures along the way. And by the way, I didn't say Irons was a "bad person"

The team did show loyalty, but so did Irons. He probably got treatment for substance abuse. He could have immediately transferred and played for a FCS team. He also showed loyalty when he was the fourth back after flashing great potential. We should not trash a kid that had to grow up in our program. I hope that he and AJ have great years. They are both assets to the program.

Maleek looks vastly improved. He could have a great season this year. If the gets 180 touches, I think he'll be over 1000 yards.
