They shared a story about the 1942 game. Roosevelt decided the game would be played. Due to rations, the game would be played in Annapolis but you could only attend if you lived within 10 miles of the stadium. So the Naval Academy split the Midshipmen so that half would root for Navy and half would root for Army. Good stuff. It likely sounds goofy to read that I pull for both teams. Reason: I went Army. But my two older brothers went Navy. My dad went Marines. My father-in-law went Army Air Corps. Next year will be a good time to start another long Navy win streak. Go Navy! Edit: Let me add that I also get chills down my spin when I hear the midshipman sing "Navy Blue and Gold" at the end of the game, since it was the first college song I ever heard back before most on this board were ever born.
