Should we take a look?

The disturbing part of that article, at least to me, was this comment:
cleveland.com wrote:
Ohio State currently sits at 88 scholarship players heading into spring practice. The buckeyes need to be down to 85 by the fall.

So, they have to persuade three more players to please leave? Ohio usually has stayed under the 85, and has one every now and then to award to a deserving walkon.

Yes that means they will chase at least 3 players away. What an awful practice! They already had Collier, a wide receiver and Trout leave so that means they had 91 scholarships filled at one time.

Yeah because we've never oversigned.

And those kids will have to sit for a year if they transfer. Awful. The NCAA sucks.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

You have all types of things that can happen, surgeries, injuries that require medical scholarships and such. As for Gerald, the young man just removed himself

Ohio did oversign one year, and I wasn't impressed with the practice when Ohio did it, either. In that particular year it's not clear to me if it was intentional, or if it was a case of a couple kids qualifying who weren't expected to qualify. You don't get to 91 by accident, though, especially when you don't sign anyone that you aren't pretty sure will qualify.

So how do all the SEC schools get away with oversigning? They do it every year.

Edit: Just found the answer -- back-counting. http://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/five-years... /

We will get by.
We will get by.
