Receiving stolen property, pleaded down to disorderly conduct, per the municipal court records. Looks like the OVI will also amount to a probation violation (he had about 3 weeks of probation left), which might mean jail time.

Yeah, I think Mr. Irons might be done....

Anyway, back to Irons. Coaches can only do so much. They can't control what the kids do 24/7. Irons has to take responsibility for his actions. He's had one chance already, so Solich would be justified to cut him loose. He should at least be suspended for the first two or three games next year. He needs to make up his mind about whether he's serious about playing ball for Ohio.

If he's not done, he should be. I'm all for giving a person 2nd chances. 3rd chances? Yeah not so much. If he didn't learn anything after his first offense and then the whole Kyle Belack incident several weeks ago, well then.......

I see a huge distinction between the Belack case and this because I see a huge difference between a deliberate crime of violence (brass knuckles, etc), and an act of stupidity, even an act of stupidity that could have resulted in someone getting seriously injured or killed. I think it's clear that a violent crime should result in being kicked off the team.

As for an alcohol violation, in the absence of the fact that it was a second offense and while he was on probation, I'd say that he should be suspended for some period. In light of the fact that he was on probation, and will likely do jail time, I'm not sure. I guess I'd lean towards a year suspension, as was done with Tommy Stuck after his second offense.

Yeah, I agree, time for him to go and to find another home. And if he's having trouble deciding where to go, you know Akron will take him.

He's not doing any jail time for probation violation.

I agree, I would suspend him and get him some counselling.

I wonder if a regular student would get the boot for this?

I don't think he necessarily deserves to be kicked out of school, but I don't think he has fulfilled his obligations to represent Ohio University as a student athlete. A scholarship and a spot on the roster of the football team should have a higher standard required in order to receive the benefits of each.

Based on a situation concerning the son of a good friend and OU alum, two alcohol offenses and you're out for a semester. Any student life folks on here to confirm?

Alan, that's what happened to Tommy Stuck back in 2006, so unless the rules have changed, that would be accurate. The thing is, I don't believe his first offense was alcohol related, so I'm not sure it applies. I think it's a parallel, however, and the enforcement should be similar.

This sounds right, although I've only been in trouble for urinating in a girls bathroom that had urinals on the wall. The doors were wide open and there was no signage indicating which gender the bathroom was for. Those old dorms severely need remodeled, specifically Gam

Similarly, I almost voted for Trump because of Monroe. Almost. The point being, just like Monroe has you rooting against Ohio winning the MACC, his repetitive drivel was the only thing I can think of that could possibly influence me to contemplate any positives in a Trump presidency.

The best thing about having Trump as President is not having that dumbass Obama around. Totally fd up the country in race relations, deficit of $20 trillion, China building bases, Syria red line, N. Korea nuclear threats, Iran nuclear give away, Cold War is over with Russia, Obamacare and I can go on and on and on. You brought it up dude, elections have consequences so I hope you suffer like we did for 8 years.
