And Zaire isn't deciding until April. So Morris and Zaire are out, then.

We can piece together more clues. If it were Rourke the tweets would have mentioned his name (no reason to be cagey about a guy who has already signed). We also know it's got to be a big name to merit "Christmas came early." Plus, it must be a current junior or senior to make the grad transfer possible. Finally, since it hasn't been made public already, it's likely the QB's team is still playing.

Put all that together and...it can only be Deshaun Watson. When you've eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

Have you been taking logic lessons from the BA School of Philosophy? If so, well done my son! :-)

If you think that this program is in satisfactory shape and has produced acceptable results--espec no MACC--after 12 years under the current staff, then you need to examine the play and game results.

My goodness, we went 8-6 this year (worse than prior year's 8-5) despite a slew of All-MAC. Etc, etc, etc.

Some of us don't like it. We voice our opinion.

What--it's only okay for the sFB and their everything-is-perfect to opine?

8-6 this year is NOT worse than 8-5 last year. We lost games this year by 2, 5,6, 7, 7 and 9 points. Two losses were to teams ranked in top 20 at the time. And the loss to Troy was well .... Troy lost to Clemson by 6. And I suspect even you might acknowledge that Clemson is decent. And to quote your never ending drivel ... we did NOT have any "CRASHING LOSSES" this year.

You're welcome to voice your opinion. But try looking at facts and results of each game as you might realize the record alone is not what one draws a conclusion from.

My man!

I love this post, this point of view! It allows for us to possibly go 4-8 next year but, if circumstances break our way, argue that 4-8 is better than 8-6 in the same way that 8-6 is better than 8-5.

You have invented a whole new system of logic!

That there is the greatest post ever!!!!!!

And continues to match what I said about the SFB's willingness to love quality losses, to view losses as virtual wins.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

Gotta bring this back. It's such splendid logic as to how 8-6 was better than 8-5 and more losses can be of a finer quality such that 4-8 can be better than 8-6.

Look, I'll admit that some close losses are better than last year's triplet of about 30 point losses. But that's a function of the horrid last year, not a function of a close loss being valuable.

This tolerance for losing 12 years in will never get us to a MACC.

And it makes no sense...NONE...to have a 1) football team in 2) the MAC unless a MAC title is our far and away our primary goal.

I get it. None of us have the cash in hand to change it. That is not, however, going to keep me and other rightful thinkers from advocating for what has a chance of getting us a MACC.

By the way, welcome to 2017, another year in which the current staff will not get us a MACC.

Thank you for engendering mediocrity.

I have one simply question for you. What in the world are you going to have to constantly complain about and dwell on when Ohio actually wins the MACC??? Think about it. It's very possible that you could wake up the following day and no longer know how to function.

It will be a nice day when we win, but until then you have to evaluate everything the program has done. 12 years, no MACC and yet WMU went 1-11 three years ago and now have a MACC during this time. Miami wins in 2008 and look like a strong candidate to win the whole thing despite being 0-12 two years ago. How can they go from that bad to that good in such a short time and yet our engine stays in the same gear? At some point you have to ask yourself when we are going to get it and is the current staff good enough to do so.

Possibly an FCS transfer up? I can't find a recent list online of potential 2017 graduate transfers, and the big names mentioned so far just don't strike me as the guy.

FCS transfers up have to sit out a year. FBS transfers down don't sit. At least that was the rule the last time I checked.

Unless it's a graduate, then same rule will apply when moving "up" from FCS

Good point, I wasn't thinking about the possibility of an FCS graduate transfer. I don't think we've ever had one of those, have we?

The only reason I thought of the possibility is I saw a list from last year mentioning Oregon's use of FCS graduate transfers. The only QB transfers I can think of have been JUCO (Theo Scott, Boo Jackson) or FBS (Phil Bates, Ryan Hawk).

I've quit worrying about this. I figure we'll find out when we find out, and he'll either be great, or he'll add depth for a year. Either way I'm glad to have one more QB on the roster for a year.

What amazes me is the nature of the tweets. We normally don't get that much excitement from a notice like that. Also amazed as to why we haven't heard anything.

Well... Whoever it is has to be accepted into OU and etc. So, that could be delaying things... Although a Deshaun Watson "plans to transfer" to Ohio type headline would probably work fine. Or, maybe the Russians hacked our coaches social media accounts and it just ain't true.

I agree; winning a MACC will shut my face up. Though I reserve a wee bit the right to gripe about it taking at least 13 years.

Let's see if it happens.

I agree with L.C.: this is all so much talk-talk until we find out what it is.

You're 100% correct, that is EXACTLY the reason for all of this, the "nature" of the tweets. We have all seen tweets with excitement behind them. But theses were different and certainly pointed. When you read "Christmas came early!" and "BALL ALERT!" and another one with something along the lines of "Stud Play-maker!, this is what the OL will block for," it has led to exactly what we now have. Excitement, a lot of curiosity and no answers.

For the record, Assange also said the Russians (and any other "state actor") were not the source of his Clinton-related emails. Suspicion is now turning to an "inside job" involving either a spy inside the Hillary camp or a whistle-blower former loyalist. This doesn't mean, of course, that the Russian and many other foreign governments didn't hack Hillary's insecure email and some of the other players' email systems, it just means that that's not where Wikileaks got the emails that were widely published during the campaign.

yes the digital prints that the Russians left are false, you are smarter than John Brennan. Can you read? I said the Russians probably hacked Clinton's server. I also quoted the head of Wikileaks as saying the Russians were not his source. Those two points are not mutually exclusive.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

Wait Juliet Assange said the Russians were our friends. I believe him because I believe anything. Putin just donated 6 million to the program, we may get a five star transfer from Russia, Me likey.

Russia is our number one all, they are arming the Taliban to support us and our sanctions against them are wrong. I am saying this because they gave us 6 million dollars and a five star QB transfer. Despite what 100% of the intelligence community says and 75% of the Congress. I am with you brother.

Can you read? I said the Russians probably hacked Clinton's server. I also quoted the head of Wikileaks as saying the Russians were not his source. Those two points are not mutually exclusive.

He's a totally trustworthy and honest guy too. The rape charges against him are total BS, he just grabbed them by the .....

I hope this doesn't affect our 5 star Russian transfer. You have to read and stop letting people pull emotional strings. I trust John Brennan, the FBI and 90% of the congress way more than you. Now that we have the SMOKING gun, let's move on. https://www.yahoo.com/news/u-intel-report-identifies-russ...

Best. Thread. Ever.

We've got talk of transfers...

We've got bickering over why in 12 YEARS WE HAVEN'T WON A MACC

We've got people justifying why 8-6 is better than 8-5 because the 6 are "close losses to good teams"

We've got Russians

We've got Clinton

The only thing missing is something about Steveland Hookfin. (Yes, I will call him Steveland)

Consider that done.

http://www.jacksonsun.com/story/sports/high-school/footba... /

He's actually a really successful high school head coach in Tennessee.

Hookfin to WMU?????
