Walk-on versus college football's all-time leader in receiving yards. He was picked on tonight and against Akron but came through with tremendous efforts both games.

He did his best, I don't think he is the answer at corner back

He is a backup and I think he has done an admirable job. The real issue is he is just the kind of recruit FS loves to have...NR/2-star type who works really hard and gets the most out of his ability and skills. Problem in he is (literally) in way over his head. One of the things I see in our recruiting is we don't really use many measurables. We often have guys who are shorter, or lighter or slower than opponents. But, we coach em up and they develop...just not quite enuff to win a MACC!

They did give not one, not two, but three scholarships this year to walk on defensive backs - Hardy, Stites, and Cunningham. Ellis played well, but as said above, he was a backup. If he can be in the top 2 strings next year, he might get a scholarship. Good luck to him.

Let's not forget we have Jeff Christian who sat out this year, and hopefully a healthy Mayne Williams coming back. I see the No Fly Zone in our future.....Deontai Williams is still in our future... It will be interesting to see Hagan link back up with his High school buddy...

Among former Ohio Bobcats, name the 3 star CB recruits:
Ian Wells
Omar Leftwich
Dion Byrum
TJ Wright
Ian Wells
Lorenzo Fisher
Bop White
Idris Lawrence
Gary Fortune
Curtis Brunson

Hint: There were four. Only one excelled, and he was convicted for a part in a drug ring.

every single one of the four is better than what we have. All of those guys started early except for Brunson

Did any of those guys lead us to a MACC? They weren't good enough either.

True Indeed. We need the best players that we can get. I don't care about stars. Just don't try to sell me that Brad Eliis is an All-MAC corner. We fall in love with guys and just want them to start forever. Head over heals.

That is quite a list of former Bobcats to tag as unworthy of the Green. We know how you feel. You are usually better at being diplomatic.

Wow Bcat2, I am not disrespecting any of these players OR any Bobcat ever. I am simply saying what I have always said...that those individuals (while good) were not on teams with MORE and BETTER players than the opponents they lined up against. Just like this year in the MACC, I take nothing away from our players OR their effort. Compared to WMU we simply did not have MORE and BETTER players on the field again. That is why we lost.

Guess I feel if they chose Ohio, worked their butts off for Ohio, did their level best for Ohio, well they are absolutely "good enough" in my book. You, it seems, have a weird perspective that only Bobcats who achieve MACC status are "good enough." No "disrespect" intended. Right, put you in one of the "Nothing Personal" jerseys. So Casper, might the athletes have a perspective that their fans are "not good enough" or as good as other school's fans because they are not MAC Champion donors? CA Bobcat has something here.

So, what level of achievement, what record would we have to hit for you to question our program in any way?

I presume that you won't answer this question as you didn't answer Alan's question the other day about your affiliation with the University or team.

Bcat2 you meed to have your reading comprhension checked. I tried to point out these are good football players. I did not disrespect anyone. I simply stated the players and teams they were on were not good enuff to win a MACC.
That does not mean they were bad players it just means they did not win championships.

What I get from your quote is that ant player/team that does not produce a MACC is "not good enough." You sir need to root for the team in Columbus. JMHO.

Your comprehension still needs a little bit of help. Any team that didn't win a championship is simply A team not good enough to win a championship. It doesn't mean the players are not good. I don't think I can make it any simpler and clear.
