Please tell us another story, Uncle Monroe!

If Cooper Rush is on an active NFL roster come week one 2017, I'll buy everyone on BA a beer.

bshot44...I'll split the tab with you. No chance he's in the NFL come week 1.

Ohio had them on their heels on their first drive... And then fumbled inside the 20. Then proceeded to stuff them for the next few drives on defense... But the offense sputtered.

Had a chance to bury a team that was scuffling on a three game losing streak and low on confidence.

We didn't.

Instead let them hang around, build confidence and return to form.

Should've and could've buried them when they had a chance.

Can't disagree with a word here. That was exactly what I was thinking as I watched the game. If Brown doesn't fumble after making that first down on the fourth down play, this game turns out entirely differently, and OHIO probably wins. We would likely have scored a TD, and an FG was almost assured if the offense faltered.

Sure, Monroe is a better judge on NFL talent ... heck, he's never played the game. Compare that resume with Fleck's. No contest. I mean what has Fleck done this year? Oh, just a top 15 ranking and recruited some great kids.

I've never played the game either. That's why, except in the most egregious situations (e.g., Knorr), I tend to defer to those who have the background to actually know what they are talking about.

No way he gets drafted before round 6. I can name 15 QB's that are better than him.

For reasons completely in my control....sort of, I have limited memory of games played while in college. This memory issue was most promounced while in Athens.

What the hell do you think Fleck is going to say about a senior QB for a rival team in his league?

"He's overrated trash."

Ha! Of course he's going to compliment him and help build respect for his conference. Common sense. When have you ever heard a coach not build up a player as NFL talent. All coaches do that regardless of the skill level. It's called coach-speak

Keep running your trap. Again... You don't need to play to have an opinion.

Mike Leach never played and he's a premier college coach.

I'd wager over 80% of some of the best announcers, writers & commentators never played.

You need to quit this nonsense. It's totally ridiculous

CBS NFL prospects: http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospect-rankings

NFL prospect perspective: http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/dsprofile.php?pyid=1...

CBS ranbks him eighth overall and NFL ranks him 3rd QB overall. Deshon Kizer and Brad Kaaya will not be drafted before him because of their injuries and interceptions. Some of you guys dont understand football and that is okay with me. I want my beer when he make a team.

You got it! And I totally respect you played the game, but please don't insult my intelligence because I wasn't a D-1 football player. We'll see about Rush. I don't think I have to have played to have an opinion on his NFL chops

Let's limit this whole message board to 3-4 people on here who played D1 football. The only way you can have a valid opinion is to have direct experience.

I never directed a film, but I know "Gigli" sucked. I never played D1 football, but I know mediocrity when I see it.

I didnt mean to insult you but I just state what I see. But some of the analysis' that you make.....makes no sense. Cooper Rush is definitely NFL talent. Watch the game again and count how many sideline passes he threw on the money from the opposite hash. And please name 15 College QBs that are better than him besides Watson and Jackson. If the QB from CMU that beat us in 2006 can stick on a roster as a run first QB, Rush will get drafted. Too good not too. Even OK State's coach says he hate Rush and he will be a good QB on Sunday. He threw for big yardage against Power 5 schools. Ill even throw the Vikings in as a team that might pick him up Soft Sam and Tender Teddy as their QB options.

First off, I didn't make any analysis. All I said was if Cooper Rush was on a NFL active roster week one of the 2017 season, I'd buy everyone on BA a beer.

That's not analysis. That's me making a friendly wager. I don't think he'll make it on an NFL active roster to start next season. No analysis necessary. It's just my opinion.

I didn't state it as "fact".

I might be wrong...and I will happily drink with any BA'r when I am.

I'm not trying to name 15 better QBs. I don't think there will be 15 QBs drafted. That seems like a high number.

There are a lot of people on this message board who are quick to attach NFL to a player.

I didn't think Ian Wells was a draftable CB last year. My opinion. He wasn't drafted.

He got a shot with the Lions and blew out his knee so we didn't get to find out if he'd really make their roster. He might one day, but we just don't know yet.

Rush might make an NFL roster one day. I just dont' see him on one to start next season. Again...if I'm wrong, first round of beers is on me.

A lot on my mind here. Sorry fellas. I have to say this too. CMU (OL & WR-Titus Davis, A. Brown), Ball State (QBs- Wenning,Davis), and Kent State (their Athletes- Edelman, Cribbs) are the only MAC teams that run Pro-Style offenses. They usually have more drafted players from the MAC. I do agree with Monroe on the fullback situation. Back in the day towards my senior year, a lot of MAC LBs didnt come fill gaps when Jason White or Mitch Morsillo was coming out of our back field to block for our backs (McRae and Owens). It gives up the play as a run 70% of the time but if the FB can catch then it has its advantages. I would love to have a nice 6 ft 250 lb FB right now on the roster for sure. It would not hurt to have that that set as an option. Sounds really good actually!

totally agree! but that would require Albin to rethink things. He's still trying to catchup to offenses from the mid-2000s by running interior screen passes....plays I saw Mike Leach running back in the mid-2000s at Texas Tech.
