I doubt any other conference in America has a stat as wacky as this: one of the conference's historically-weakest programs (Ohio) has had coaches with the second and third most wins in conference history.

It helps that the all-time great coaches at Miami, Toledo and Bowling Green, moved up to bigger jobs so quickly (and Marshall moved out of the conference when Bob Pruett was steamrolling towards the top), but it's still funny to think that Ohio has two of the top three when Urban Meyer, Nick Saban, Ara Parseghian, and Bo Schembechler were head coaches in the conference.

Also, it seems like Gary Pinkel should've gotten into the top three given how long he was at Toledo, how good Toledo is as a program and how good of a coach he is.

It sure doesn't break my heart that no one has been robbing the Cradle of Coaches lately. Still some pretty impressive names on that list, especially Ara, Bo, and Woody.

Would like to see more players with Ohio/OU next to their names on the POTY awards but would settle to see Ohio as MAC champs = ).

I know it's easy to rip the MAC on so many levels but this list is a pretty nice compilation.

The record book has our overall record at 547-546-48, compared to this database-

http://football.stassen.com/cgi-bin/records/calc-wp.pl?st...

which has our record at 546-546-48. I know there's some debate about some of those early games but either way its great to see us at or above .500 again.

Now, L.C., who wants to give credence to facts that we find unappealing? It's more expedient to dodge and weave through and around such facts. Exhibits A and B: Clinton and Trump. :-)

How old is Solich in that picture? 30?

This says Ohio was Division I-AA in 1982. Really?

For what it's worth, I've messaged the webmaster there before, and he responded politely. He has researched his data at least, and isn't just taking it blindly from other sources.

That is a myth that Ohio is one of the weakest MAC programs historically. Over the years Ohio's been up and down with Solich the first to bring true every year consistency.

Most Memorable Bobcat Events Attended

Whatever.

No MACC means irrelevant, means no legacy.

Win a freaking MACC. Make OHIO a program with allure.

'Come to OHIO. We sometimes have teams that almost come close to a MACC' does not compare with 'we win titles.'

Just one MACC, please.

Ohio has a losing record against seven of the 11 current MAC members. It hasn't won a MAC championship since 1968. It hasn't produced a first-round draft pick since 1936. For one moribund period, it was the worst program in Division I. We stormed the field once because we beat the Akron Zips.

I feel more than justified in using the term historically-weak in the MAC.
