I admittedly know little about soccer but I wondered if it was really as surprising as it was being made out to be. I knew Iceland tied Portugal, which was a pretty big deal. But Iceland's win IS a massive, massive upset IMO. They are a solid team, but that isn't a game anyone would think they win. Overall, soccer is a sport where I think upsets are much more likely than a sport like football. Kinda like Hockey, I think a undermatched team in soccer can play a style tactically that allows them to be competitive against teams that are much, much better than them. As a big "football" fan, I'm not sure I'm sold on Mr. Guzan nearly as much as I've been sold on past, truly elite goal keepers. Names like Friedel, Keller, and Howard have started for top teams in Europe. But, I do hope I'm proven wrong, because an elite keeper is a definite advantage. Elite keepers made the difference for Chile, and Iceland both this week.
