It has been looming. Quite frankly it's pretty disgusting that it didn't happen sooner.

May be worse that most, but probably should happen some other places as well.

I'm not sure the Baptist brethren are very happy in their pews today:

Baylor University is a private Christian University and a nationally ranked research institution. The University provides a vibrant campus community for more than 16,000 students by blending interdisciplinary research with an international reputation for educational excellence and a faculty commitment to teaching and scholarship. Chartered in 1845 through the efforts of Baptist pioneers, Baylor is the oldest continually operating University in Texas and welcomes students from all 50 states and more than 80 countries.

Football in Texas is a religion, winning is its god, and Baylor forgot Exodus 20:3.

I've been of the belief for about a decade that this Christian institute of higher education had a long time ago sold its soul to the devil (big-time college football/basketball).

I can't believe that Starr will survive this scandal, nor the AD. If I were an alum, I would be calling for their heads if the lack of institutional control was as bad as the reports are saying. Way too much smoke and fire for too long for there not to have been major changes before now.

I agree he should go, and after investigation, possibly face criminal charges like the leaders at PSU

And speaking of PSU, it is now being claimed by some that PapaJoe knew more about Sandusky's behavior -- and at an earlier date -- than was previously alleged:

Now the AD resigns and they bring in an outside coach. Starting to come together to replace them all. Starr is next.

BTC, all I'm saying is that if Grobe runs the type of offense that Baylor has run in recent years it'll require a further evolution in his offensive strategy. I wasn't saying, or implying, that his system didn't evolve at Ohio and further evolve at WFU. I don't really see an argument here.

Does anyone seriously think that (short of winning the Big 12) Grobe is going to be there more than one year? New president, new chancellor, new AD...they are going to want to bring in their guy as HC.

(That being said, I have no clue if they are looking at Grobe as the new AD after a year, or if he would have any interest in that kind of thing...)

Excellent point. Soooo....that brings us to the next question. Might Mr. Grobe's experience back in coaching -- even if he planned on it as a temporary move -- renew a passion he has for it. And....might he want to then coach at an institution where the program is strong, but does not have the pressure of an ACC or Big XII conference? A place that might have a coach looking to retire soon?

CFB signee (5-stars, natch) gets one game suspension for assaulting a woman. Same as targeting. And you wonder how Baylor happens?

My favorite, fall-back punishment is the ol' "He's not going to start today but will come off the bench, instead". Wow! That hurts. I'm glad my parents whupped me instead of making me wait for the second series to go into the game.
