Where are our UB posters that had lots to say about the branding with SUNY? I'm kinda curious to hear their thoughts now.

Now they are "New York's Public Powerhouse."

Looks too much like Chicago's bull mascot IMHO.

Must have lots of cash to toss around in their marketing/branding department. This has to be at least logo #3 for them since the attack cat was introduced for us.

"Buffalo -- New York's Public Powerhouse"

That's almost as catchy as "Rutgers -- The State University."

They're considered a very good academic institution. Would likely rate higher than us. The laugh's on you.

Not surprising.
Have you ever been to Buffalo in the winter ? (Its about 8 months long)

There's not much to do except study.
Especially when there's several feet of snow on the ground.

Back in the day when I was working for General Electric in Schenectady, NY, I often had to travel to Erie, PA. Best way to get there was fly to Buffalo, rent car and drive about 90 miles to Erie.

Erie, of course, is the beginning of the snow belt that moves east through Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Utica, Schenectady and Albany. On a Christmas Eve/Day in Schenectady, 40 inches of white fell.

Anyway, once when I was visiting Erie, heavy snow was forecast. Folks in Erie advised me to cut short my visit and begin driving to Buffalo Airport. It is no exaggeration to say that from Erie to Buffalo on I-90, I never saw an inch of pavement. At a very slow speed, I followed the tail lights of a big rig. And, of course, when I arrived at the airport, it was closed down.

My wife and I have flown into Buffalo a few times.

The first time we flew in we saw that most of the terminal doors were "ramped" several feet off the ground.

We saw the same thing at some commercial buildings.

We were told that's they can open them when there's snow.
