Yes, let's celebrate inarticulation and, cc, unwillingness to see and analyze the truth. Let's stick with a worldview regardless of whether it works.

His last 3 years Knorr 5 losses by 24 points or more. Solich's last 3, 8 losses by 24 or more.

So, let's keep being reverent on the status quo.

It's working so well.

I completely agree that Daz somehow was given more than he earned by the coaching staff. I think Daz was a great Bobcat. I was very pleased to have him in the green and white and I loved his attitude but he got too many carries in his career. A.J. showed plain and simple at the end of last year that he is the featured back. Dorian and Maleek need to fall in line if they are to get carries. And Papi was a stronger and more athletic version of Daz. If our staff gives the QB job to Sprague and Windham in the fashion they gave Daz carries then we are destined for 7-5 or 8-4 again. I want MORE than that. If Maxwell or Duckworth or Krizancic can throw, PUT THEM IN. End of story.

I only hope that the players in question spend the off-season listening to their coaches and working on the shortcomings in their game so that they can become the players they can be, rather than listening to those that think they already have their position mastered.

If you're going to be disingenuous (what's so magical about 24-point losses and last 3 seasons other than it fits your narrative, hope you didn't have to spend too much time spinning this one up), at least be factual. Knorr had 6, He was also 10-25 overall and 7-17 in the MAC in his last 3 years. Solich is 21-17 overall and 13-11 in the MAC. So yeah, a lot of similarities.

May I suggest a new poll?

Which is worse?

2. "Blah, blah, blah."
3. "Yak, yak, yak."

Well, we don't have eyes at practice. Maybe Irons fumbles one out of every 10 carries or misses pass protection 3 out of 10 plays. I just think if there was any running back impact, it was at the margins on this team.

What I am interested in is:
- How we defensively handle late-drive situations = this team could have been 10-3 with stops vs. Minnesota and Appalachian State.
- How we can get improved QB play = would help bridge the gap as compared to BG, Buffalo gets 17 first-half points off 3 Ohio interceptions
- How can the defense drop off so poorly without Poling = 2nd half Minnesota, 2nd half WMU, entire BG and Buffalo games

More later as I'm really presed for time...I merely went to ESPN and it only has Knorr's last 3 years...I counted 5 for him but will re-check...

I admit 24 is somewhat arbitrary but it's still something of a standard for crushing losses... And Solich had 8 years before the last 3 whereas Knorr had only 1 year before his last 3. Solich had 7 more years to get his program in place.

cc--You're trivializing, total dismissal of vigorous discussion leaves no discussion...leaves merely things as they are. I know from our pm's that you think everything is on track. Fine if you think so. But I don't buy it at all.

11 years and no MACC, with the last four years being downtrend. I call that average at the very best.

And, do recall that I was as big a Solich supporter as there was until about the crashing stretch about a year after Miami stopped us after the 7-0 start and article in SI. So, I have my bona fides as someone who sees all sides of what Solich has been and is.

"that you think everything is on track." really - please post from a pm where I said, or even implied that.

Maybe you were referring to this pm from me to you:

"Am I happy with where we are? No. Do I think we should make a coaching change. Absolutely not. Makes zero sense. I've been very clear that I think we should not extend Frank, but have him finish out his contract next year. Makes the most sense on every front: football front, future coaching front, business front, PR front, etc."

I guess YOU interpreted that as "on the right track." - simply because it is not on the same track as you.

You just don't get it do you? Irons sat for a reason. Irons may get more playing time as he matures as a person. Daz played because of both his character and his athletic ability. You sure know how to beat a dead horse though.

And Knorr took us to how many bowl games?

And Knorr's record overall was what?

The questions can go on and on to demolish your cherry picked data. A loss is a loss! It's an "L" on the schedule.

What obscure piece of info will you next come up with? And how irrelevant and meaningless will it be?

I stand corrected; in his last 3 years, Knorr had 6 losses of 24 points or more (not 5).

But Knorr achieved those 6 with one prior year of headcoaching experience. Solich achieved his 8 in the last three years with 7 prior years as Ohio head coach and about six as head coach at Nebraska.

with 6-7 wins getting a team to a bowl and our sched each year featuring nearly that many gimme wins, getting to a bowl is not a meaningful standard. About 2/3 of teams go to bowls!

Hope I'm proven wrong this coming year, but MACC ????

So that we're crystal clear on your position:

- You're saying Brian Knorr = Frank Solich

- You believe Frank Solich should be fired today

I finally had a chance to look at the Spring Roster, and here's a list of names that I don't believe have been mentioned who are not on the roster. Most of them are walkons, but not all:

Zach Adams OL
Garrett Alcorn OL
Ryan Carter TE
Cameron Gunnels CB
Blake Scipio SS/Nickle
Charles Smith S/OLB
Brian Dicillo MLB
Davon Donovan LB
Taylor Graves OLB
Chalmer Frueauf DL/LB
Blake Crow DE/TE
Jaylan Williams DL/OL

Scipio was on scholarship, and played quite a bit back in 2012, but has been fighting injuries ever since. He did play in some games last year. I'm guessing that the injuries caught up with him, and ended his career.

Brian Dicillo was a true Freshman that played last year at MLB, and I was surprised he wasn't on the roster. Injury, perhaps?

Adams was a walkon that earned a scholarship, I believe, at OL, but I think he's another one that has been fighting injuries.

DiCillo is a big loss. Depth at LB once again an issue.
