Not all that recently but how about:

1. Big Ben
2. Randy Moss
3. Chad Pennington
4. Don Strock

Just a few off the top of my head.

If we're just going by who ended up in the NFL and was great there too, then I guess those already mentioned.

But the best player I ever saw in Peden from a total domination factor was Johnathan Goddard from Marshall. He was unblockable.

Moss was probably similar trying to cover him.

There was a bruising, fast tailback that I thought would make a big NFL career out of it and ended up flaming out quickly.

That I've seen?

Offense: Randy Moss and/or Byron Leftwich. Prentice, Chad Pennington. (off the cuff)

Defense: Khalil Mack? JoJuan Armour, Miami LB (had to dig - couldn't remember his name)

I don' know enough about Ohio/MAC Football history back beyond 1995 to know of great opposing players.

If we're going by who has the best NFL profile, Revis is probably the top of the list over the last 10 years.

I thought he showed a lot of promise in that first year with the Browns. Don't know why he didn't stick.

I don't think Randy Moss ever played in Peden. My vote goes for my first game when I saw Jason Taylor of Akron look pretty good. We won the game easy, but he was a factor.

I thought of Randy Moss too. But I also don't think he played at Peden.

Don Strock? Good gravy that's going back. I remember him from his "saving the Browns in the playoffs" days as the 4th-string QB. WMJI kept playing the "1, 2, 3 o'clock, 4 o'clock Strock" parody song relentlessly.

This is correct. Moss had 2 seasons at Marshall. The first, Marshall was still I-AA. The second, Ohio played at Marshall. That was the infamous "throw to McDonald's" game, I believe.

Revis has my vote for best.

Tyler Palko was second team Big East QB in 2004, 2005. He was put on the watch list for the Maxwell award in the summer before the Pitt game. 2005 was supposed to be a big year for Pitt preseason Top 25 and opening with Notre Dame, Ohio and Nebraska on national TV. It was the year after Larry Fitzgerald declared for the NFL and he could have been the most heralded player ever in Peden Stadium.

James Harrison at Peden. Randy Moss and John Cappelletti away. As you will recall, we played in Happy Valley in early November, 1973. Shortly thereafter Cappelletti won the Heisman and was also named UPI National Player of the Year.

I gotta believe John Offerdahl played in Peden. WMU LB and 5 time Pro-Bowler. One the great Dolphins of all time.

Phil Villipiano. BG linebacker and multiple year Pro Bowler with the Raiders stands out.

OK this one will shock you but Randy Gradishar of Ohio State and he was an 8 time Pro Bowler. Yes he played in Peden the fall of 1970 because I played against him. Ohio State freshman team played our freshman team ( last year freshman were not eligible) and Ohio State was ranked No. 1 in the country at the time. We lost 16-3 but trailed 6-3 at half time.

I was at that game in Huntington; guess I forget he hadn't played in Athens.

Chuck Ealey, different era, but the man had serious game, and it's a travesty that he can never be in the College Football Hall of Fame.

Did UC's Greg Cook play in Peden? I know the Bobcats and Bearcats had a shootout and I think Cleve Bryant and he put up big numbers. I don't know if that was in Athens, though.
