A great story to boot. Under-sized and over-looked - he's all Bobcat! AJ for Heisman!

AJ makes another statement for being the lead RB as we go forward. This is a coaches dream player.

GO BOBCATS

As are; Poling, Sayles, Wood, Basham, Watson, Sprague, Lowery, Provitt, Moore, Laseak, Pruehs Smith, Reid, Cope and White. These are all Solich type players. Not big time recruits, but, like Johnson, Carpenter, Crutch, Patterson, young men you would enjoy coaching for four/five years.

Reading Monroe's posts, you'd think we were the equivalent of Knorr's Bobcat teams.

Reading bcat2's posts, you'd think we were the 1985 Chicago Bears.

According to 98% of the other BA posters, we are probably somewhere in between.

As a season ticket holder I enjoy of course home games...but TV games like last night can cause smiles galore like the OUlette hurdle run played over and over plus stuff like:

*the announcer pronouncing his name Ohlette but also
Oolette the and Owlette.

*the joy of the Ohio sideline.

*the look on NIUs coaches face and his frequent GD oaths.

*the explosion of excitement on the Ohio sideline after Bergers run of the blocked kick.

*Chad Moores great game.

*Windhams composure.

*Frank on the shoulders of his players.

Great day to be a Bobcat.

AJ's been taking leaping lessons from Papi, I guess. He had a great game, no doubt about it.

And, Doc, I agree with your list. I particularly agree with giving a dose of credit to Greg Windham, Jr. In his earlier appearances, it sometimes seemed as if he was trying to force things, trying to make something happen so as to move up the depth chart. Last night, he came in, and was cool and collected, and was content to just run the the offense efficiently. I gained a lot of confidence from his performance that he can be a real asset to the team next year.

Late in the game (don't remember the exact circumstances), we had a fourth and short. I saw Windham look to the sidelines, clearly wanting to go for it, and then looking frustrated as he trotted off the field to allow for the punt. I was feeling very uncertain--sure that NIU was mounting a comeback reminiscent of the 23-20 meltdown in the MAC title game.

But to the defense's credit, we stuffed NIU's next possession. It was a moment I've seen many times go terribly wrong. We punt, the opposition drives and scores, and we're on our heels for the rest of the contest. Not so last night.

that's two weeks in a row for the leap. I got a good picture of him going over a Ball State defender last week.

I loved that. The offense was playing with confidence all game. Every guy out there believed they could get that yard.

I was really thinking we should have gone for it instead of the (northern) ill-fated fg attempt.

I agree. I was not confident with that FG attempt. The outcome was pure luck. But, luck plays a big part in a successful football season. Most every team gets a share of it at some point.

Are the Moore brothers the most famous siblings in Ohio Football history? I still credit Keith with the biggest tackle in program history in the Potato Bowl.

Mike and Doug Mangen were the first brothers that came to my mind.

Two other recent brother combos that come to mind are the Leftwich twins, and Curtis and Jordan Meyers. They are trying to add another brother combo this year, with an offer out to Curtis Brunson's' younger brother, Kyle, but he remains uncommitted.

If Irons was starting we'd be saving money for the Playoffs. Funny, how AJ is all the sudden to many Mexican Americans.

Thanks for sharing. Excellent article. Not sure what A.J. is pursuing in his studies, but, it would be great to keep him as a GA, then coach after graduation. Coach Solich might need to stay long enough to make sure that happens.

bobcatsquared, if I might explain. The above was about A.J. as a "dream recruit". Some might take that to mean he is an All MAC and future pro. My dream recruit, and A.J. is one, is a future captain, a great teammate, is all about hard work and dedication, and understands that as freshmen there is a mountain of work and pain ahead. My list above is not a list of All MAC players, but, one of great teammates, dedicated and determined. Dream recruits are student athletes who will be a pleasure to work with over four/five years. Might not become the 85 Bears, but, will represent well.
