1. Running the smallest man on the team between the tackles works five percent of the time at best.
2. This offense is not very good without a reasonably healthy Vick or Sprague at the helm.
3. This team could be called Marshall for all the idiotic penalties they pick up.
4. The defense is solid.
5. Every MAC game will be a struggle for this team to win.

1) Defense can win games for us when the offense is struggling. Even when they give up some yards, they can hold opponents to FGs.

2) Papi is going to be a playmaker for 4 years...love that we are finding ways to get him the ball

3) Vick is tough as nails. I just wish he could get healthy so we can see what he can do with all of the playmakers on offense

4) We have speed on offense, but it seemed to me that we kept running up the middle instead of to the outside. When we did run outside, Papi and Patterson had some of their best runs

5) Poling is a beast

1. Vick should have a couple days off to heal and give Windham more reps in practice.

2. Our defense is the best in the MAC.

3. Akron will be better by the end of October.

4. We could very well be bowl eligible by the end of this month.

5. Fiami sucks.

Poling is a dominant force on defense. Maybe our best player in the Solich era. And that says a lot
This is a game we wouldn't have won in the past. Survive and advance.

1. An ugly win is still a win and keeps us at the top of the standings.

2. Our team dug down deep and pulled out a road win against a team who I believe we have now defeated 8 years in a row. I am sure the Kangaroos wanted to finally get off the schneid against us and played harder than they have and will against others. The defense did not give up a touchdown!

3. Our offense has the ability to move the ball well if we can avoid self-inflicted wounds. We could have blown the game open early so that's a problem that can be fixed. That kind of play won't cut it against the upper tier teams that we will face later in the season.

4. From what I have read, no new significant injuries. We need a healthy Vick to reach our full potential though, IMHO.

5. We have Oxford Tech coming to town and I think we need to remind them of how far down the pecking order they are. Can give them a nice, strong homecoming beatdown.

If we can get OUr best 11 defenders on the field at once it will be lockdown by G5 standards.

The offense isn't going to do much without Vick at 100%. Even then he has to have a willingness to run.

MAC is deep this year. We are in the mix. This is one of the more talented Ohio teams Solich has put together. Good defense, strong lines with solid skill players on offense. The MAC is stronger top to bottom. No easy games. Everybody has a win so far. Yes, even UMass, EMU, Miami and Kent State. Akron showed they are a good team. These games should be closed every week. Its like the NFL. Who can make a big play to finish the game. Today Ohio defense got the big play late to hold the lead.

1. This defense plays with a pride, and an attitude that we haven't seen since 2006. I LOVE watching this defense. In some ways they may not be as big, or strong as some other defenses of the past, and with all the guys hurt, they may not even has much talent in some areas, but they more than make up for it with attitude.
2. The offense can move the ball effectively when Vick is healthy, and make it look easy. When Vick can't run, and can't lean into his throws, not so much.
3. Vick is incredibly tough, and he is a winner.
4. Regardless of what this team accomplishes, there will still be complainers. While the complaint has been "Ohio hasn't beaten a MAC team with a winning record for awhile" (conveniently overlooking the non-MAC teams with winning records that Ohio has beaten), when Ohio does beat a team that most likely will end with a winning record, and beats them on the road, in the rain, the complaint just shifts to the win not being impressive enough.
5. Albin and Isphording showed that they are very adaptive in their game plans, and that they are willing to change them a lot for different opponents, based on the strengths of those opponents, and they can be very effective at changing the player groupings to work with their game plan. Thus, Minnesota was very fast against the run, so Ohio tried very little wide stuff against them, and ran AJ up the gut a lot. By contrast Akron was incredibly strong up the middle, so there was very, very little running room there, but Akron did not have as much speed outside, so we saw little of AJ, and primarily had player groupings featuring Daz and Papi, and primarily we saw outside running, and very little in the way of runs up the middle.

I know. He should have been mentioning how Albin/Isphording have the helped Vick to NCAA rankings of #12 in completion percentage and #13 in passing efficiency.

1) Everytime I go to a football game in Akron it rains and is miserable.
2) Infocision Stadium is the most sterile football environment I have ever seen.
3) Poling is always in position to make a play and usually makes it.
4) The run defense is improving and has to as the Cats advance into MAC play.
5) I would love to see a healthy Derius Vick.
