Vick needs a week off, and a chance to heal that ankle, wrist, elbow, etc. He is clearly Ohio's best QB when he's healthy, but he's not healthy, and he will be needed in the key games ahead. If Sprague is ready, fine, but otherwise, hand the game to Windham, and let him get some experience in prime time. In Fiami's other games, the most they scored was 26 vs Presbyterian ... PRESBYTERIAN ... at home. They've had 14 at WKU and Kent, and zilch at Wis. And they haven't given up less than 20 vs any 1A team this season. Our D should be able to set up the offense with really good field position all afternoon. Akron is by no means a great, or even a mediocre, team. But they're much better than Fiami. We will get by. We will get by. We will get by. We will survive. We won a game we didn't deserve to win. Thank Akron for a couple penalties that hurt them big time for scoring opportunities. We're banged up right now with Basham, Johnson, Vick and Sprague and others hurting. Windham looked gimpy after one hit. Need to get healthy soon. I was at that game. If we play as we did today it won't be any easy 'W'. We're talking about sitting him precisely because when he's healthy, he does a great job, but when he's gimpy and hurt, the offense struggles. When I look at fumbles 7 and lost 4. Total turnovers in 5 game 15 or 3 per game. With our "D" we should be able to have a turnover field day. I could see the "D" scoring 1 - 2 TD's off turnovers. We can do this. And Fiami's last TD came after Kent fumbled the ball away on their own 35. I don't expect our D to let up. As for Fiami's D, in three games vs G5 schools they've given up 113 pts. For the season, they're 97th in 1A vs the run. They gave up a TD on a 75-yd run on a reverse yesterday. We should be able to run early and often on them, which should take the pressure off our QB.
