I agree irons isn't much bigger and not much faster. Plus how can everyone judge AJ when he's only getting less than 10 carries a game? It takes time to get in a groove and when your O line isn't opening holes there's not much you can do. Has anyone played college football on here haha its looking like no. If AJ received 15 to 25 carries a game you wouldn't even have this post plus he has one thing everyone knows (dependability) can't replace that.

Actually AJ is averaging 13 carries per game. And I don't see him as our 'go to' guy this year. Both Daz and Papi have stepped up nicely and both are averaging more yards/carry.

NAME CAR YDS AVG LONG TD
Daz Patterson 27 174 6.4 33 (TD) 3
A.J. Ouellette 39 152 3.9 28 1
Papi White 12 96 8.0 58 (TD) 2

So a sample size of 2 (Irons) is statistically significant? As someone in the Accounting world I'd think you'd know that not to be the case.

Good point. You provide a larger sample size and I'll use it. Thanks.

There is this thing that DCs do called film study. I believe the SLU DC studied film of Ohio's first games and determined with injured Ohio QBs he would load the box and make a banged up group at QB beat him. Guess what, Vick had his career day, Thanks DV. JMHO, Larry Csonka would not have run inside, credit to Vick and his receivers. White pretty damned good on the edge too.

Monroe, care to predict how Minn will line up?

Hmm...What would the best way to have a larger sample size be?

That's easy. we'd be 3-0 with a 45-28 win over Idaho, a 21-10 win over Marshall and a 35-14 win over SE LA.

Serious question: What % of current Ohio football coaches/players know who Monroe Slavin is?

My guess: 30%

I absolutely agree with this mindset, that Irons has the greatest yards per carry so he should be starting. Following that same logic, it's outrageous that Frank hasn't come out and announced Greg Windham as the starting QB for the rest of the year. He has a 99.9 QBR (100 is perfect!), and has yet to throw an incompletion! He's averaging 19 yards per pass! He's been unstoppable!

I can only take this information to mean that Greg would not throw an incomplete pass all year if he were the starting quarterback. The previous stat(s) back that up.

It's just like I always say, Paul Hershey was the greatest running back in school history. 2009 YPC--7.5, 2010 YPC--12.0, 2011 YPC--13.0.

116 players on the roster. 23 coaches. 139 total sample. I'd say less than 5% - 7 or 8 people. I'm sure there are a few players and coaches that pop on here. Not enough to capture and register a name. Which leads to the next, more relevant question - you almost posed the right one - just had one word out of place:

Question: What % of current Ohio football coaches/players know who Monroe Slavin is and take him seriously?

Why is everyone ganging up on Monroe? He has been a fan for a long time and he is entitled to his own opinion. Irons appears to have talent that we can use and because someone speaks on it, they have to endure hundreds of nerdy pokes. We are all Bobcat fans and want the Bobcats to succeed. We have all seen coaches and players make mistakes, we should be able to present opinions without being called fake coaches and being subject to nerdy jokes.

Yeah, but nerdy pokes beget nerdy jokes. That's just the way it is.

It's as if TOS never saw Bridgewater's amazing dunks in warm-ups. If he had, he surely would have played him more.

I'm guessing we'll see both him and Brown against the Redchickens.

I wouldn't insert Irons. Why break up our offense such as it is given the way that our offense is just killing it.
