@OhioBobcats Announce Radio Network, New Location for Frank Solich Coaches Show
Coaches show moves to Broney's Alumni Grill

OHIOBOBCATS.COM

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio IMG Sports Network is ready for another season of Ohio Football on the radio and online. 17 stations make up the network, the largest station network in the Mid-American Conference, and this season's coverage includes a new home for the Frank Solich Show.

The show moves to Broney's Alumni Grill at 7 Carpenter Street (the top of Court St.) in Athens. It debuts on Monday, August 31, from 6-7 p.m. The weekly show includes comments from Head Coach Frank Solich, players and coaches from other Ohio Athletics teams. Fans are welcome to see the show live, call or tweet their questions and comments. Food specials will be available. Eight stations across the network will air the show.

Bobcat Sports Today, a daily Ohio sportscast, also starts on August 31 on 10 stations on the network.

Russ Eisenstein returns for his eighth season as the "Voice of the Bobcats."  During that time he's called some of the greatest moments in Ohio Athletics history, including the school's two bowl victories. In addition to play-by-play, Eisenstein hosts the Solich Show, Bobcat Sports Today and serves as the face of Bobcat TV.

Rob Cornelius returns as color analyst.  The Ohio alum has been a part of the network, in a variety of roles, since 1997.

"Our goal is to provide the best fans in the MAC with the best broadcast presentation in the MAC, and one of the best in the country," Eisenstein said.  "We have an 'infotainment' approach to the games, shows and our additional content.  We want the listener and viewer to know what's happening, why it's happening and have fun along the way!"

Game day coverage begins an hour before kickoff with a comprehensive look at the matchup.  Fans will hear produced elements including comments from players and coaches, a rewind of the last game and a scouting report on the opposition.  All broadcasts are available online on OhioBobcats.com.  Game week content extends to Bobcat TV with previews, recaps and features.

Ohio opens the season at Idaho on Thursday, September 3 at 9pm eastern. The pregame show hits the air at 8pm.

Finally - a decent location for a sports call in show. Beer and wine in Peden and the Convo and now the coach's show in a sports bar. Are new scoreboards next?

It's about time the school got off their high horse on alcohol which was the basis for never having this at a bar. When it was at the Abrios you weren't allowed to have beer in the same room....

Agreed. Host it in the evening at a popular restaurant/bar near campus. This is how it always should be done.

Now can a man get a Cincinnati radio affiliate?

Dang. I would have attended this regularly as a student if it was Uptown instead of Donato's or Abrio's.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

This isn't the first bar the show has been in. At one time, it was at Courtside but it's been awhile.

Yes, can a man?! I only get to hear the games we play against Miami on the radio and of course have to listen to their homers doing the play by play.
