After a quick glance, I believe Ann Arbor is acting like the very nice house next to your own house in bringing up Ypsilanti's value.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Confirms what I have always believed about living in Columbus. The presence of A&M and the ties to media here makes this the best place to be in America if you're a college sports fan. Can't think of another metro area of 2 million where college sports absolutely rules. Take the good with the bad.

Only if you are a O$U fan. Try to get any info on other college teams from Columbus media is like trying to find the water park in the middle of the Sahara.

Let's be realistic. I don't expect a lot of coverage of other TEAMS from the Dispatch, WTVN, etc. It's the broad NCAA coverage, tournaments, coaching carousels, poll coverage, having reporters at big events (and small), etc. that tie it all together.

The Dispatch weekly in-season football special section alone is enough, if you skip the first 14 - 15 pages of A&M only stuff. BIG, MAC, OAC; all covered to some degree with particular attention to OUr Cats, if they show up. More than you're going to get in just about any other market, I'll bet.

You don't expect much and you get what you wish for. The Columbus media doesn't even cover the local colleges in the Columbus metro area. If short burbs and box scores are your idea of great coverage, you're easy to satisfy. Hell, the O$U mascot and equipment manager get more coverage than any non-O$U school.

I think you could say the same thing in the Blade, Beacon, Dayton Daily and other locals around the state. Bought a Toledo paper thinking I would catch up on BG and the Rockets. Could not find them through the STATE coverage. Little blurbs on page 4 about that nights upcoming (local) MAC games.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game

Their OSU beat guy Briggs is really good. Shame he's not on the Toledo beat instead. I could see him moving up to a larger market quickly.
