After seeing how well OSU's third string Q.B. played last night, this kid may want to rethink his decision to go to OSU.

they're giving credit to Burrow's quick commit to OSU to Meyer's system, when in reality the reason he committed (according to his own comments) was that he wanted to "play for championships" and in a corrupt league like FBS half of the schools aren't allowed to "play for championships", including his hometown school where his dad is a coach.

His hometown school where his dad is a coach isn't even competing for championships in their own conference. FBS with BCS, CFP, or any other system besides a random draw... Ohio is not playing for the national championship in the next 4 years.

Keep doubting boys and girls, the kid is a tremendous competitor who wants a challenge to be the best he can be. what the situation is this year is not what it will be in two years.

Braxton's reportedly thinking about transferring to FSU. He apparently doesn't like the competition, either. That, and nobody in Columbus has even mentioned his name since October.

Seems like it's a reason to go. Their third-stringer is now starting.

Urban Meyer made Chris Leak a national championship quarterback. He made Tim Tebow look like a quarterback... a Heisman winner at that. Yeah, that should encourage him. If you are even close to being a good quarterback, his system will find a way to work. No matter the skillset. Tebow was a fullback. Cardale Jones has the body of Too Tall Jones and the feet of Bozo the Clown and somehow works in this system. Braxton Miller can't throw a football and was a two-time B1G Player of the Year.

Has Urban Meyer ever had a quarterback who DIDN'T look like a stud in his system?

Joe better take his studies seriously and/or learn to like Tim Hortons and poutine, since the other 2 sucked after college. Leak went to Canada for a while and still got cut, and Tebow was just to stubborn to go to Canada.

I don't think people are questioning his ability as much is questioning his decision to go to a program that is stacked a quarterback

There was story on the news last night about a Tweet OSU's third string QB sent out.
The Tweet said he came to OSU to play football not "play school" and doesn't feel he should have to go to class.

OSU also signed the #13 overall prospect QB Torrance Gibson. Burrow will probably be the 6th QB on the roster next year.

Yes, it was originally reported here on BA in his recruiting thread when it first happened, on Oct. 5th 2012, and it's been a running gag on BA ever since.

Reports are that he's clearly the most talented kid in this game.

Good for him. These games can be fun. The premier HS all star event, Under Armour, has been on ESPN all week. The original, U.S. Army game, was yesterday. Gibson didn't appear to do much in that game. The game Joey is playing in featured a few MAC players last year. Not sure about this year. Cedric Brown played in it two years ago.

Kind of reminds me of Katie Smith - excelled at every level. Hope Joe is on the same path:

Did Ohio even make an offer? The link below doesn't show us on the "Interests" list, but it does have Central.

http://247sports.com/Player/Joe-Burrow-36575

A lot of kids want to go away to school, too - they don't want to stay in their hometown. This is clearly why Tettleton picked the real OU over the fake OU. :)

Click on "Show all 27 interests" and you will find the Ohio offer.

As for TT, he had only two division I offers, one from Ohio, the other from New Mexico State.

Surrounded by A&M nut cases, I have used that tweet as my entree into many subsequent discussions about how out of touch and obnoxious the A&M football program and its fan base have become.

However, after reading what has been written recently about Jones' background and his HS days, it's amazing that he has made it this far. I wish him well personally and hope at some point that he will reveal the unfortunate tweet to have been a teachable moment for him and others in similar forlorn circumstances. We'll see.

Will not be the 6th QB on the roster. He's better than Gibson if OSU wants a QB that can throw the ball..I think Joey will redshirt next season..Braxton and Cardel will take off for the NFL after next season..Joey will backup JT for 1-2 years and then he'll be the starter at OSU

boydhallbobcat...You are right on track with what will probably happen at OSU in the years to come. IF Joe does not change his mind, and end up at another Big 10 school, your analysis is spot on imo. Jim Harbaugh and Mike Riley both got a late start trying to recruit Joe, but you can bet that his phone has been ringing in the last week ! I look for a famous coach from up north to show up at an Athens High basketball game in the near future.

If Joe doesn't end up in Columbus, it'll be because he's heading to Lincoln.

He could follow in his father's footsteps. I think he'd do well there.

Supposedly Riley is an expert at evaluating QB talent in particular. If he's after Burrow, that's another positive indicator of his talent.

Meyer was on a recruiting trip to Northern N.J. yesterday.
According to the paper he made a stop at Bergen Catholic High School who they say have a top Q.B. recruit.
They were saying on the radio that Meyer just likes to "stockpile" Q.B.'s.
