I'm curious as to what you would do.

I am fairly clueless regarding Xs and Os on football. But, here goes anyway:

I would trust the program I have built, and the process the program follows. I may give some "new" players a chance to play more and make an impact. I would try to figure out if there are schemes/plays that just aren't working and replace those with schemes/plays that are working - as much as possible.

That's it for in-season changes.

I agree with this line of thinking -- trust the program I have built. But in looking at the trajectory of this program, is it a program on the rise? If not, I'm not sure I trust that what I'm doing is right.

Year MAC Record (because we should judge against our peers)
2009 7-1
2010 6-2
2011 6-2
2012 4-4
2013 4-4
2014 2-3

Well if you are not sure what you are doing is right, then you need to evaluate much more in the off season. Is it scheme? Did you make some recruiting mistakes? (You know, 1 or 2 kids turning bitter or just bat %^$& crazy can set a program back big time. Did that happen?) Did you just get unlucky? And, last resort, do you need to make some staff changes?
