The MAC is a backup to the ACC and Big Ten for the Quick Lane Bowl. If either league cannot fill its obligation for bowl with an eligible team, the bid goes to the MAC.

The MAC already has five primary agreements. It also is a backup for Navy (which currently is 3-4) in the Poinsettia Bowl and is backup for the ESPN bowl group of thee games.

Seems like there's a good shot that all bowl eligible MAC teams will go to a bowl game.

This almost assures a 6 win bowl bid for somebody.

I don't think it is that clearcut, only Wake Forrest appears to be out of bowl running right now from those two conferences. There's a lot of 3-4 teams hanging around right now. May go down to the wire as usual for Ohio. Let's get to 6-6 and see what happens.

A lot depends on whether the ACC and/or Big Tenfinity gets a team in the national championship semi-final bowls (Rose & Sugar). In addition to the playoff, ACC has 11 bowl commitments and Tenfinity has 10. Each has 14 teams, so filling their contracted commitments might not be a problem. If one -- probably the ACC -- has a team in the playoff mix, filling the commitments could be difficult. The Detroit bowl is low-priority for both. It gets Tenfinity's #9 pick and is "third tier" for the ACC, according to Campus Insiders. So it could be in play if they can't meet their commitments.

Another consideration is that the MAC may be strained to get six eligible teams this season. There are only eight with realistic chances, and most of them play one another in the next six weeks. This is where the MAC's poor OOC performance this season comes into play.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.
