All in all, not a terrible week. No embarrassing FCS losses, and I think WMU and U.Mass may have done better than expected against P5 teams, and Miami did better than expected against Marshall. The one really bad game was the BG loss to WKy.

I just returned from watching a doubleheader at Michigan and Eastern Michigan. That game at Eastern was as bad a game as I can remember between two of the worst teams in college football. Eastern was darn lucky to win that game with Morgan State missing a 60 field goal wide right at the end. If Morgan had made a couple of tackles they would have won. I have seen many qb's in d3 better then those qb's in that game. Eastern won't be bringing home any more victories for the MAC this year. Oh the grey field hurts the eyes and makes pictures d### near impossible. Nice crowd for once though. Bet they don't get that many again this year. Oh a quote from a Eastern security guard. "They might have a new field but it is the same old Eastern".

If I knew how to post a picture here I would give you an example of just how bad that field is. Trust me it makes it hard to watch the game. Of course the play on the field didn't help either. I am not sure which team was worse. Morgan State if FCS so I will give them a slight break but they should have won the game.

There is a slideshow of the game here, Some shots have enough sunshine to show the green in the EMU helmets, but often the orange in the Morgan State uniform or some green grass in the background stands out as the only thing "colorful" in the picture, and everything else looks very drab, and yes, grayscale. I would call the color scheme a major fail. I predict that the photographers working the game will try to take most shots in such a way as to capture the green endzone hill in the background rather than the empty gray stands.

actually they had a decent crowd (by eastern standards anyway)last night. The announced crowd of over 8000 is probably pretty close. Everyone there was on the home side. Not a whole lot of morgan fans made the trip from Baltimore.

I tuned into the EMU game for a minute and the field made the image look like a bad Instagram filter. It's awful.

Comment by EMU fan after the game:

Favored by 19, win by a FG in the 4th against a FCS team. Good to see that overpaying a D3 coach and spending way too much on a gimmicky field is paying off. Just send the team down to FCS, fire the coach (or make him take a paycut), and stop wasting money on this charade.

Any way that we could help them with this project? Does anyone know the exact rules by which the presidents of the other MAC schools could vote to kick them out?

CUSA 5-0 vs G5 week one. Good showing. Although i really wish we could replace FIU with just about anybody. Worst team in the country.... well, they would rival idaho for that title anyway.

Chuck said the same thing in his article about FIU. For all his haters he didn't say anything nice about Miami either.
