From RotoWorld.com

Suspended free agent WR LaVon Brazill has signed with the CFL's Toronto Argonauts.

After repeated violations of the league's substance abuse policy, Brazill was suspended for at least all of the 2014 season. The former Colt will stay involved with football and probably hope to catch on with an NFL team in 2015.

Good to hear. I hope he has a great season, good enough to get another shot in 2015.

And let's hope he stays off the weed.

Yeah, I think you are missing the BIGGER picture here, the CFL does NOT test for recreational drugs!!!  So smoke up!

Presumably, it would affect his performance. If he wants to make it back to the NFL, he'd best avoid it. If he's happy finishing his career in Canada, it doesn't matter.

As someone who supports the right to smoke up, I say this with love... at some point it's just time to grow up a little and think about what's important. I'd rather hear him say that football just isn't that important to him and that he has other career plans (most of which will also require drug testing) than to think that he's just that dumb and throwing it all away because of weed.

The NFL is starting to recognize that weed has some beneficial effects for people who've had concussions, and may be considering relaxing their rules against it.

But until then, if LaVon wants to get back in the NFL he needs to stay off it.

Lots of drugs have prescription medicinal uses yet remain by prescription only.

He's still subject to random drug testing from the NFL and will continue to be tested.  Same for Josh Gordon.

Hee hee.  More like they recognize its bad for business to kick guys like Josh Gordon out for a year over a drug that less and less people really care anything about.

I agree with this but you can't give Gordon (or Brazill) this pass because we're talking multiple failed tests.  Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice and you're suspended.  At some point, it's no longer the drug test but the act of defiance, dependency or stupidity that's gonna get you.
