I think we should have at the least a beer garden type setup.  This would alleviate some concerns of beer consumed in the Convo.

Because it's allowed or because people are determined?

My freshman year at Ohio, I clearly remember a student who looked to be a couple years older than I was casually sipping a bottle of Bud.

I still appreciate the fact that it was a bottle. In my experience, that seems to hint an extra level of determination.

I've seen crazier things happen.

The fact that you can't buy beer at college football games is obnoxious.  You can buy beer at the little restaurant at Baker, but you can't have it at a football game....You read stuff about a lack of wifi at stadiums hurting student attendance at college games, but I think a lack of beer is one of the main reasons...

There should be a Jackie O's beer garden on Victory Hill.

To be more precise, beer will be sold in the Tower Club this year.

If you want to drink in Peden, and either prefer liquor or don't care, go buy some airplane bottles from the liquor store (usually sold in packs of 10 or 20), and try to smuggle them in via your socks, waist band, etc. Because they're individually sealed, it's not an open container, so worst case scenario is you have to throw them away if you're caught on the way into the stadium. Buy a Pepsi, Mt. Dew, or Gatorade on your way to your seat, take a few drinks, slyly pour the booze in, and, voila, you have a mixed drink.

I've never tried it, but I have heard that you can do something similar with beer. Bring it in cans (not sure how you do that without being noticed, which is why I don't try), buy a large soda on the way to your seat, chug the soda, open the beer can, put the can into the cup, put the lid on the cup, and drink the beer via straw.

Many venues, on and off campus sell beer, and have for years!

If Kent has their same old setup this game, it's all that Ohio needs to do.

Local Distributor arrives with keg truck, they park it behind the home stands and surround it with tables, sell beer until half (max of 2 per transaction), truck leaves at half.

Do it prudently...nothing approaching excess drinking...in a way that brings the University some revenue.

Surprised to see SMU on that list. They are suppose to be a Christian University and they are encouraging drinking?

They're not Mormon.

They're the only mainstream(ish) church who will kick you out of their university for drinking.

Did not know that, I assumed places like SMU, TCU, even Notre Dame would not kick you out for having a beer but wouldn't encourage and sell it either. Those should be the last stadiums selling beer on game day.

YEaaaaaah, because Catholics (Irish Catholics for that matter) don't drink.

Just to demonstrate that I'm an equal opportunity insulter, here's one for the Southern Baptists (who tend to be quite anti-alcohol): Why shouldn't you go fishing with one baptist? Because he'll drink all your beer. If you bring 2 or more Baptists, they won't drink and your beer will be safe.

I think you'e mistaken in your assumption Christian churches are wholly anti-alcohol.

Looks like the only changes made were the distributor loaded the trucks with 16 oz. cans instead of a keg truck.
They even parked a second one on the student side. Looks like it worked out pretty well! I saw no one drunk around me, at least.

Kent's setup was easy. $5 for a can (slightly bigger than average I think) at a tent. You get a wristband to verify your age, get a ticket, then buy a beer. Compelely separate from concessions.
If you don't want to encourage students, just put it only on the tower side.

I would prefer Ohio sell craft brew. Jackie O's would be PERFECT. Local place with can operation and ties to University. Don't overcomplicate this. Just do it.

They were selling them for $2 from 4:30-5:30. Pretty good deal.

They stop the sales at halftime as part of their policy.
