Thanks for posting, L.C. I wonder what the #1 game will be? I'm guessing it'll either be Pittsburg or Penn State, but probably Penn State since it is more recent. If we had beaten NIU in the MACC that would probably be the #1 victory. In the mix for other top ten spots would be several key November games against Temple, a win or two against Marshall (black jersey night, for instance), a win against Illinois, the Mac East clinching game against Akron, the last regular season victory over NIU, and others that I'm not remembering right now. What do others think?

Not sure what the games will be but I like this positive hype a lot.

Wasn't #10 the game where, after it, the players commented about how clearly they could hear the OU-Oh yeah chant across the field late in the game?

Yes I can remember getting chills hearing the OU Oh Yeah cheer as a player. Everytime I hear that cheer I go back to that game at Miami! Great memories!

Love the NTexas enthusiasm by the 'Cats.  I'd forgotten what a big win that was.  Let's play like that.

That win saved the season, IMO. Would have started 0-2 before coming home for Cal Poly. Then played at Tennessee and at Bowling Green. HUGE win.

I don't know about playing "like that". I think the celebration was just as much relief as anything. We got lucky and escaped with some clutch play against a bad team. I'm sure that was a grueling trip and the weather was probably a bit of an equalizer. I'm still not sure Taylor Price had control of that ball. I think if it's ruled a 'no catch' on the field, it's not overturned and we lose.

Trying to think of what other games should be on this list. I didn't get a chance to vote on the AD website so what else is there? In no particular order:

Pitt 2005
NIU 2006
Illinois 2006
Temple 2009
Buffalo 2009
NIU 2009
B.G. 2009
Marshall 2011
Temple 2011
BG 2011
Utah State 2011
Penn State 2012
Marshall 2012
ULM 2012

For me there's no question #1 is the pitt game. by far the best game under his tenure. Our first bowl win will be up there too.

By far, my favorite Bobcat team was the '06 edition.  Seeing that video was a pleasant reminder of just how tough Kalvin was, and what competitors that team had.  We've had a much higher talent level since then, but for my money I would take cohesiveness/competition level before talent. (too bad we seemingly can't have both)

Another thing stands out from the first two videos: our defensive backs were much taller back in the day than now, no?

The Few, The Proud, The Bobcats!

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.

Another tidbit about that team: they were hungry. Ohio football had been down and that team collectively hadn't won many games until Frank came along.

I remember that Miami game well. My but that was fun. I hope Kent 06 makes the list. I know it won't there are so many good ones but it is the one I remember most. The weather was the worst I have ever seen. Ohio played great and won a very crucial game leading towards the championship. Most of all though I remember that after the lightning delay the Kent fans all left and the Ohio fans moved behind the bench and took over the stadium. "Our House" a favorite reminder of that day.

It is hard for me to think of a win over a team like NTSU ranking as one of the top ten over the last 10 years.  I mean, I know it was a road game, in the rain, vs an ok opponent where we trailed most of the game but seriously...North Texas as a Top 10 win?  Does this just really mean there have NOT been 10 really big time wins the last 10 years?  I think we all know NTSU is not Pitt or Penn St.  those are the kind of names I would be looking for.

its the subtext of what the win meant to the team and the program at that point in time.

The Bobcats were coming off of a 4-8 season where they lost a lot of close games- @Wyoming 21-20, @OSU 26-14, CMU 31-28, @Temple 14-10, and in all of these games they were in it until the end but often lost because of either a turnover on offense or giving up a late score on defense. 3 of the 4 coaches prior to Solich never won more than 4 games in a season and it was starting to look as if maybe Ohio's 9 wins in 2006 was more of a fluke than a sign of things to come.

Ohio started the 2008 season hosting UConn at home in front of the largest crowd in school history and lost 23-16. The Pitt magic was gone. That set up a trip to Denton, TX. Yes, North Texas was not a very good team, that's why a loss to them would have been even worse. But something happened that night in the rain, the team found their guts, and according to several players and coaches, that was the turning point for the program. From that point on the Bobcats didn't hope to win every game, they expected to win every game.

Up to that point Solich had coached the Bobcats in 50 games and had a record of 23-27. In the next 50 games the Bobcats would go 35-15. it was an important win for the program.

MY STATE. MY TEAM.

Re the last second win at BG.  I marveled at The Drive as it was happening and marveled again at this replay.  The poise, the execution, the grit.

After all 10 of these 10 for 10 have been released, I'd be at the front of the line for a DVD that aggregates all 10.

Well the five remaining are obvious. The only question left is what order. In no particular order. Penn State, Pittsburg, Akron 06, and the two bowl wins.

I personally expect Penn State, Pitt, the two bowl wins, and Marshall 2011.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Independence Bowl doesn't make the top 10. The Akron game has to be in the top 5.

#5 is Ohio 44 - Marshal 7

If #1 turns out to be Ohio over PSU, it will remind me again of the excitement I felt late the night of that victory.  I was in Ribeauville, France.  Calculating that the game ended about 3:30 p.m. EDT, I logged onto BobcatAttack at about 9:30 France time in a friend's home.  I let out a shout when I saw the headline: Ohio Tops Lions!

Then I walked into the living room, high-fived two women and bussed Lynne on the cheek.  Without a moment's hesitation, she said, "OU must have won" - and then resumed chatting with our two French friends.

I have the final 3 as:
1. Pitt
2. Potato Bowl
3. Penn St.

That Pitt game was the first and last time I've seen 20,000 people living and dying with Ohio Football. People wanted so much to believe that things would be different. Pitt returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and everyone seemed unfazed. And, of course, the finish.

The Potato Bowl was the school's first Bowl win and had the Brazill catch and Tettleton run for the score.

Penn St. was a nice win but it was more methodical. Ohio owned the line in the 2nd half and especially the fourth quarter.
