Bored at work on my lunch break and there's little juice on this page. Some of us might not be expecting a great year (I know I'm not) but the team does have the capacity to pleasantly surprise.

So let's hear it - what are your BOLD predictions for college football season 2014? Here are mine:

Bold player prediction: Chase Cochran will break the school record for receiving yards in a season, whatever that is.
Bold team prediction: We break the school record for quarterback sacks in a season, whatever that is
Bold conference prediction: BG - Toledo meet in the championship game. MAC Championship attendance and TV rating records are shattered.
Bold national prediction: 1) Across the board, Power 5 conference teams see a 5% dip in home attendance from last year. 2) An FCS team beats a top 25 team on national television

Bold player prediction: Ben Russell will get damn near close to 200 tackles.
Bold team prediction: Ohio has three RBs that eclipse the 500 yard rushing mark.
Bold conference prediction: Western Michigan will contend for the MAC West this year, not next.
Bold national prediction: The Charlie Strong era at Texas will end before it gets off the ground.

I predict this year's O will score more points, only because people forget just how badly our offense tanked last year.

In his time at Ohio, Solich's teams have averaged 26.0 points a game, but last year's team averaged 27.40, so it was above average.

It is interesting to note that the average for teams that won the MAC East is only 25.0 yards a game. It seems while the teams with losing records (2005, 2008), both had below average offenses, among the other teams there is an inverse relationship between offensive points scored and how well the team did, odd as that may seem,

I'm not surprised the average was still up there, but let's not kid ourselves. When the s**t got real, we put up 3, 0, and 13 against UB, BG and Kent. Tack on 7 in garbage time against Louisville, who was good but wasn't exactly a lockdown defense. We had decent performances against Marshall and UNT, not to be dismissed, but our average ballooned against the worst defenses in the country and our inability to run the ball with any consistency means last years offense left little a pretty sour taste overall, capped by our inability to finish some otherwise decent drives against ECU in the bowl game.

Bold player prediction: Basham gets Kalil Mack-type recognition. Declares for NFL Draft.
Bold team prediction: Ohio starts 0-4 (that prediction sucks)
Bold conference prediction: NIU finishes with 1 loss, gets bid for a major bowl, and...
Bold national prediction: ...Herbstreit loses his mind on-air, and in a rage, accidentally knocks Corso off the GameDay set, spiraling Corso to a seemly death -- only to be saved by the Bucky the Badger mascot head, which breaks his fall.

If one of those two goes into a rage on-air and flips out, it'll be Corso
