I'll be there +1. I think I'm doing a doubleheader with the Pitt game at noon.

I think that what Ted is trying to say by starting this thread is that the O H I O fans had better be the majority in the stadium.

Anyone with any green blood in them at all oughta be here for this one:  A chance for revenge for the way that kents has handled us recently, a chance to see the new start for a young but talented O H I O.

My brother and his wife are probably going.  I'm hereby reserving, also, for our local (to kents) prolific author, MJ.

Why aren't more college football games kicked off at 6 p.m.? It's perfect. A night atmosphere. Full day of tailgating. But you still get out of the stadium parking lot before 11:30 p.m.

For those that enjoy heading to road games, this years away schedule is probably the most travel-friendly I remember.

Thanks for posting, Ted. The menu looks awesome and it's a nice deal for the price. Too far of a drive from Chicago for me, though.

Go Cats!

Any thoughts on a decent place to pre-game if not attending the Bobcat Bash? Still trying to solidify my travel plans/group.

Kent is allowing us to enter their James Harrison Fieldhouse? Is that the indoor training facility?

I think Kent holds all their pre-game and school sponsored tailgates inside the field house which is next to the stadium.  I've never been but my Kent grad sister has mentioned taking her kids as they have a bunch of games and inflatables in there for kids.

Kent has a number of solid options. I've enjoyed Bar 145 for a place that's in the new part of downtown. Ray's Place is a mainstay in the older part of downtown. You can never go wrong with wonderfully weird Mike's Place, but it's on the outskirts of town. For something a bit fancier, Bistro on Main is good. If you want horrible for you but great fast food, hit the town's Swenson's location.

Only about 5 1/2 hours drive from Greater Chicago. Late start makes it an idea away game for you. Do a Saturday overnight and your back home for the Bears on Sunday.
There are a lot of 4-6 hour drives on this years away schedule. Quite doable, I think.

Add the fireworks at the end plus the 110 in the house and you've even amped up the college game experience.

On a long weekend there really isn't much of a reason not to spend a day and overnight in NE Ohio watching the Flashes and Bobcats battle.

Whenever I go to a football or basketball game at Can't, there are always a good number of Bobcats at Ray's. Good burgers and great beer selections on tap.

How well attended are the Bobcat Bashes?  Are they more like the Bobcat Club tent at home or the old Green and White areas?
Trying to decide whether to do this or tailgate/other.  First trip to Kentread in a long time,  bringing some old friends to the game, and first away game in a while, so want to maximize the good times.

Advice appreciated.

According to the Attendance Summary listed on the Kent St. Bash, 96 people have already paid. IMO, the farther away an event is the better the attendance is. Great turnouts at places like Northwestern or Penn St., not so great at Oxford. I think in MAC locales people are more able to set up tailgates or have established pre-game spots.

I think the Marching 110 plans on stopping by so this should be a good time.

Heads up to anyone going into the stadium early. They have a "Happy Hour" for the first hour after gates open (4:30 - 5:30 tomorrow) with select concessions only $1 each. It looks like last year it was $1 hot dogs, popcorn, soda, and yes, $1 beers.
