Here's an article on him, but there isn't much new here.

I heard a few interviews. Sounds like he has a good shot at starting as the punt returner and on special teams right away.

The only "steal" label I've seen for the Raiders was Jonathan Dowling from WKU, who's a safety and a "special teams demon."

Most people agree he is a lock to make the roster.

I agree. It's easy to be a Carrie fan. He comes off great in interviews.

Carrie to get a shot at starting.

Key positional battles

It seems that with the injury to one projected starter at CB, Hayden, their slot man has moved to the other corner, opening the possibility of Carrie taking over the slot, at least until Hayden returns. It he ends up starting there, he probably won't return punts, but otherwise will return punts, and be a backup coverage man.

He just sounds like he's really intelligent and humble. Those two things along with talent usually translate well into the NFL. Glad he came from Ohio.

Anyone know why he decided to switch to being "TJ" now that he's in the NFL? Wonder if there's any sort of story behind that...

Raiders coaches and local media seem to still be very high on Carrie. He's been getting some first unit reps and would have to do something stupid to not make the roster at this point. Looks like as long as he does reasonably well he'll see the field a lot on special teams and defense this year.

Saw in Oakland's first pre-season game Travis had 4 tackles and one punt return for a yard.
Broke up a few passes and only allowed one reception (before tackling that receiver)

I was with friends at a happy hour foodfest yesterday.  The Oakland game was on a TV.  No sound was on and I had to crane my neck to see the screen so I didn't see much of the game.  But I did see Matt McGloin at qb for Oakland.

When we beat Penn State at their stadium, McGloin was their qb and I thought he was horrible.  These kind of things, despite what a handful here think, are why I keep an open mind.  Ability to change is key.

Bleacher Report article on the game features three paragraphs on Carrie as one of the few bright spots for Oakland.

Practiced with first team some today at corner. Intercepted a pass that Charles Woodson had tipped.
