The list of other offers is rather underwhelming. I know that's not the only thing to consider, but its something easily noticed. Last three offers per verbal commits are Ohio, Miami, and Furman.

Is it just me, or isn't it normal to see OHIO recruiting guys who have "underwhelming" offers, or few offers at all. Unlike JG who threw his name into the ring vs. the big boys periodically, we tend to go after guys few others are. Either we're way smarter than the average recruiter, or we're shooting low.

I'd argue that Taylor had the interest. Dartis is the one I find interesting though. Only Ohio and Kennesaw St offered. Was it perhaps that he committed to OU so early?

Could be. I think he kind of got lost in the shuffle of the Central Ohio talent surrounding him as well.

Me too....though Seton is not too exciting. Hope he is in a good AAU program....not sure I can even bring myself to go watch a game there.

Wow. Cannot believe this kid doesn't have offers from big guys. Monster numbers. His highlight tape is pretty crazy too... It isn't just that he is a 6-5 guard... He has some bulk to him. He overpowers guys.

After I watched last night's game, and Parker's performance for BG, I'd still really argue that a player like this, or Culver is where the need is for OUr team. I guess that depends on how the coaching staff envisions Carter - if they think a 3, then maybe a big is needed more. If they see him as a 4, I have to believe a guy like Bane or Culver that can play the 2 or the 3 is more important. My five cents worth only of course.

Get a chance to see this young man tomorrow nite vs tiny Cowan HS in the final game before Sectionals start. Cowan is much improved. Still a small school but should get to see a decent game http://www.thestarpress.com/story/sports/high-school/2016... /

Good night to watch small school ball.

I was impressed as I walked in the gym and saw Mr Bane talking to the team and some fans randomly. Got a great vibe off him as a person who is outgoing and gregarious. When they walked out at halftime of the JV game I watched him rebound for team mates and got them all shots very generously and did not hog the ball like some players who are clearly the best player in the gym would. I liked him well immediately as he never put himself above the clearly inferior players on this small school team that clearly had no depth and seemingly did not cut anyone who came out.

As the game got ready to go he listened to the saxaphone quartet Bass to soprano play the Anthem and walked out and clapped for them to show his appreciation for their performance. Pretty classy for a visiting team player.

Game started and Seton settled into a 2 3 zone with Des playing back middle. Stole a pass the 1st possesion dribbled through the opposition and went up with an AND 1 to start the game.

Offensively he is pretty gifted. Nice handles, keeps the ball low in traffic, spins, hesitates, stutters, accelerate quickly and blows by, When he is going down the lane and elevates he stays in the air for a while. He sees the floor well handling the ball on most posessions snd threaded several passes through traffic exceptionally well. Players on his team are less talented and he made them look very good....they really need to keep their hands up and ready as he sees the places the ball needs to go... several times they failed to catch passes for sure scores. He ended up with 44 on the night scoring in a variety of ways, run out dunks, 3 balls, FTs. WOTS is that he is about 90 percent at the FT line and close to .500 from 3. Pretty impressive on the offensive end.

Weakness' are conditioning... verified by fans in the stands. Grabbing shorts early in the 1st qtr after a flurry of activity...and DEfense in general. Sitting back in the middle of the 2 3 I was a bit disappointed by the effort, hands down , lack of finding someone to block out when a shot goes up and on the ball defense. The middle should be stopping the ball and jumping to defend as the wings close out. Can't leave the block uncovered. I think there is going to be a learning curve there. Those fans who are complaining about our D and boxing out NOW are gonna be beside themselves unless great strides are made quickly. He is smart and coachable so I don't see that being a permenant problem if the desire is consistent with what I observed. Seems to never have been taught dropping to the line of the ball or Ball You Man principles. Got some catching up to do .

They say he is a great student, 3.5 ave and wants a business degree. Grandson of a local hoops legend that we still talk about in Richmond hoops lore. He really liked his visit to Ohio according to the fans who are in a position to know.

Senior ...the fans want IU to offer him but I can 't imagine Crean taking someone who plays LESS defense than Blackmon. I think he is a good mid major player who would be pretty decent offensivley at a hi major but lacks the defensive prowess and would need lots of work and reps to excel there.

I think he is a good get with lots of potential for instant offense. I like him as a teamie and seemingly would fit Saulball and the lack of egos. Translates to me to a combo/shooter with an ability to create and slash. I only saw him against what would Div 4 players but they said he really elevates his game vs top flight comp. Good body, can hang some muscle on him and improve his lateral quickness and speed/desire when getting back.

Looking at GrafZ's synposis of the game yesterday and his chat assertions I fear apoplexy and paroxysms if he saw Des play. I have truly never seen a kid so defensively......hmmmmm what s the ajdective?........ unconnected? inept? unschooled? I would hate to see a whole team recruited like this ...to borrow a Russ phrase....."they would give up like 200 points..."

Must be a tiny school. I grew up 15 minutes west of Richmond on the Ohio side, spent a lot of time there as was the closest to home for shopping, movies, etc. I don't recall ever hearing of the school, or ever seeing it driving around town. RHS a big school though, and big gym to match - of course they dominated the local newspaper sports so maybe just never noticed.

New school in the last 15 years and still tiny. They and area schools like northeastern, Cambridge city Lincoln and a number of others have benefitted from parents moving their kids out of "Richmond city schools" with the perception that the city schools are full of.... Well, ya can't say it in these PC times we live in.... But brown, purple, black or white.... They all say the same and intimate it... Off the record of course... It's the same all over. Indy, Anderson, Muncie... And strongly supported by the legislature giving vouchers to anyone who desires to flee the public schools. Wots as that Richmond really recruited him hard ... Borna - Thanx for the update. I was wondering why I had never heard of the school. The "PC" comment is obvious - applicable pretty much everywhere (though I have to say state of Indiana has some pretty nasty race relations history for a "northern" state - KKK history in the state government is almost unbelievable - Google it if not aware). This must be affecting the landscape of Indiana HS BBall to some degree over the last 20 years...

Gotta believe RHS went after him - D or no D - just for the O proficiency it looks like he has.

Oh - and of course I meant East of the state line - not West...
