I didn't see AJ play, but I thought he would garner higher than third-team all-Ohio Division I honors after posting the numbers he did at his size. But I've learned over the years that you just can't put a lot of stock in these all-state teams in regard to how that translates into college-playing ability. For example, for the life of me, I can't understand how Jaaron Simmons could average 24 as a high school senior, leave as Archbishop Alter's all-time leading scorer and get recruited by power conference teams, yet get no higher than SPECIAL MENTION on the Division II all-Ohio team. Go figure!

I think it really depends on how well your team does plus as BillyTheCat has mentioned previously in another thread, the All-District Players of the Year automatically get a spot on the First Team, so there are only so many spots.
