Can't even seem to find him on verbalcommits...hope my lack of enthusiasm toward this kid is short lived...I trust Saul, but even his video doesn't make me think this guy is a game changer.

Appears to be an odd signing. Hope Saul is not going after guys he could get at his last stop. We can get better. Aim high, hit high. Will defer to him until we see product on the floor.

If Reggie Rankin- former-forget that word- LOYAL BOBCAT says he is athletic and skilled-- got to love it.
Like the pink socks in the tape. His body looks like he might get a red shirt--
nothing wrong with that

Saw this encouraging tidbit on Fishburne's basketball website: Fishburne Post Grad basketball under Huckaby’s leadership the last 4-years has signed more Division-1 players than any other post grad basketball program in the country

Ellis had offers from LaSalle and Towson among others. Those are good basketball schools. Visited Athens w his parents over last few days.

Jeff. Come on. Towson? A good basketball school?

La Salle is a very good offer.

I saw him described as a long athlete with good ball-handling ability. With how I imagine Saul Ball looking, I think bigs who are comfortable playing along the wings are going to be at a premium.
6-9 guys who can dribble are usually either 5* or under the radar. Coming in, Saul mentioned his excitement about Harley, a guy JC was ripped for signing. I still don't know much about Harley but if two coaches raved about his potential that is good enough for me.

I've seen crazier things happen.

Well, they have been at the top of their conference for two years in a row. Granted, before that they help up the bottom of the CAA for a few years in a row.

Plus Towson has invested in an outstanding new arena. They no doubt are heavily emphasizing hoops there. Finished 25-11 last year. Had Colonial player of the year. Rebuilding this year.

Welcome, Ellis!

I agree that an offer out of the A10 puts my mind at ease over the signing (As far as McKinney is concerned, there is no such thing as a bad basketball school. If you're able to put a team on the court, you're a solid program.)

ESPN gives him a 3 star rating. And it looks like he has had a growth spurt and added some muscle at 6' 9'' and 225. http://insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recr...

According to ESPN, he is a good shooter, will be a stretch 4. Has Mid-Major talent with High-Major upside.

It seems like all of Saul's recruits have one thing in common, they can shoot the ball.

Looks like I was a bit quick to judge. My lack of enthusiasm may be diminishing. I'm curious if anyone has the time or can remember if filling out the next year's class before the first game of the season is a common trend for us.

That's the niche this staff is trying to recruit. They believe in their ability to develop players.

this is good to read. Shooting the ball is something that some of the previous regimes bigs weren't terribly good at.

His team will be in Canton Ohio for the Dunk for Diabetes event on the Dr. King holiday weekend in January.. I believe three of our four recruits might be at the same event.

Part one of a full game from last year. This guy's got some moves. Reminds me a bit of good Ivo. He's #1 in black.
