Anyone have any insight into coach's plan with Chelsea B? She was getting some playing time. I thought he might be getting her ready for more playing time. But that doesn't seem to be happening recently. Any thoughts?

IMO it does not appear Chelsea is going to see the court anytime soon. All MAC player (elite) alongside Kelly for two years ... wrecked knee ... surgery, rehab & release. IMO new coaching staff elected to go another direction. Tough deal. Used her vs Ball St and nothing since. Cats so deep, so talented. IMO Chelsea has been kicked to the curb. Calling it as I see it. Go Cats! Two nice wins at the Convo.

I have no idea for sure, but that kind of injury could mean she'll never be the player she was. If so, it's unfortunate, but don't blame the coaches for not playing her if that's the case.

I have no idea. I can certainly imagine the recovery could take a long time. And/or, maybe it was just too devastating to be recovered from to a high-competitive level.

If Chelseas was anywhere near as good as she was pre-injury, it's difficult to believe that we wouldn't get her on the court.

Hopefully, she's getting there!

Yes, agree with Monroe and Up San. She probably is not back to where she was pre-injury. There would be absolutely no point in "kicking her to the curb" if the coaches thought she'd could help.

In her tweets (her twitter account is public) she has not indicated any unhappiness, but has mentioned that she expects to graduate in the spring. I'll put 1+1 together and predict she'll be honored next month on senior night.

I think the writing is on the wall that her role on this year's team is to be a bench player...coming in when a starter is struggling like she did at the Ball State match and helping the team get the W. I've seen all the matches she's played in and she looks confident and I think her experience helps lift the team when they need it. The rumor mill is saying she was somewhat "encouraged" to pursue opportunities elswhere for her last year of eligibility. Tough luck for a past all MAC Bobcat but, as we all know, this is the way of sports. Her demanor on the sidelines and during matches shows that she's a class act...and that when asked, she appears to give it her all when her team needs her. I heard, again through the rumor mill, that she's uncertain whether she'll go ahead and start grad school and play her last year of eligibility at another school next year.

"She is probably not back to where she was pre-injury." Interesting comment. Facts to back that up? I agree only one vote matters. Chelsea wrecked her knee while playing v-ball for Ohio and it appears she worked her way back post a nasty injury. Can you explain why she stands and watches while young ladies who arrived in Athens 6 months ago are allowed the opportunity to represent the Cats? I know for a fact her teammates care and many fans of Ohio v-ball care. I stand by my belief she has been kicked to the curb. Semantics on your part. These kids are not pros and to bury a kid post an injury is disgraceful. I watched the Ball St match on TV and Chelsea played well and terminated balls when others struggled to do so. The Cats have a GREAT team this year and no one disputes that! A player should NEVER lose the opportunity to contribute due to an injury. NEVER!

Same to you. Any facts that Chelsea has been "kicked to the curb"? Not very fair to malign the coaches like that without anything to back it up.

There also comes a point in time when an athlete's career approaches an end. Chelsea has been a great player for OU but this is the end of the road for 99% of college volleyball players. There really is no need to risk further injury, an injury that could be with her the rest of her life. I have faith that the staff is making the right decisions for the player and the team.

My last entry on this topic. I stand by my words. Every player on the Bobcat roster played over the weekend, except one. You say my words "malign" the coaches, yet show no compassion for one of our own. Coaches are not above reproach. I support the Cats ... all of them. The media, Cat fans, parents and opposing coaches have consistently inquired about Chelsea and her ability to contribute to the MAC's best "team" upon her medical release/return to action, while IMO the head coach has not been transparent.

You may define "kicked to the curb" however you wish. Two weeks ago Chelsea pulled her weight during a tough stretch at BSU and the Cats prevailed. She remains capable and deserves better. It is one thing to lose your spot in the rotation due to injury. It is a completely different thing to be relegated to the bench for an entire season (two years in a row). Be a Bobcat "fanatic", but show some compassion in the process.

The Emperor has no Clothes ...

I agree completely. Do you have some intel that Chelsea is unable to play due to injury? If not, irresponsible to post. It is my understanding she practices each day. Any limitations? Yes, all of the young ladies will end their playing careers at some point ... voluntarily or otherwise.

At 17-4, 10-0, I am inclined to give the coaching staff the benefit of the doubt.

As Swank said on another thread, this is quite possibly the deepest, most talented Ohio team we have seen in quite a while.

None of us are in practice everyday.

I trust the coaching staff, and am enjoying the ride toward yet another MAC championship. We have a great team, made up of a group of women I am proud to have represent my school..

Irresponsible post? Kicked to the curb while hiding behind an anonymous handle? That's an irresponsible post.

Good to see(sarcasm) that this kind of stuff takes place on other BA boards besides the Football board. Congrats to the ladies on a fabulous year and the great wins this past week!

Hmm...She was first team All-MAC in 2012 and is a junior this year according to ohiobobcats.com.

If I'm a coach and she's at all healthy, I don't think that my first thought is 'keep her off of the floor.'

This is a joke, right? Someone comes here and makes a lot of allegations with exactly zero evidence to back it up and then gets huffy when called out on it or presented with plausible alternatives? Or are we watching an axe being grined?

Chelsea returned to action against EMU and did so with authority. Anyone wishing to know the whole story about her return can view the wrapup from Bobcat TV...
