Great to see Sears score like 12-15 in second half while Preston and others couldn’t get anything to fall. McDay played well too.Preston triple double is pretty darn impressive. Could have been epic if he could get shots to fall. 45 rebounds. Still good reasons for me to keep drinking the green kool aid with this group.

Can somebody hit a pull up jumper for me?.....

No. This was something beyond our control. Maybe AEP or whoever damaged the pole should pay.

And NIU had control of who gets the virus?

To a large degree, yes. They have more control over their personnel wearing masks, social distancing, staying in smaller groups, working in sanitized conditions, etc. than we had over a power pole in a secluded area near Chauncey being damaged. Nobody's perfect; we had a player out today over a contact tracing issue. But if all of a sudden at the last minute you can't field a team over a covid issue something's wrong. There should be some accountability, and if it takes forfeiting games and/or shelling out cash for the other team's expenses for players/coaches/programs to wake up and be more serious about protecting the health of students and other personnel, so be it. After all, Ohio's personnel were subjected to a fair amount of risk just getting to Dekalb. Because the game was called off due to NIU's covid issue, they should compensate Ohio in some form for that risk.

Wow! And I bet you subscribe to the theory that the customer is always right.

Let's see, the head coaches at to$u, Alabama and the Cleveland Browns got it. So did the former President. If those folks weren't being careful I don't know who was. My daughter's whole family got it and they are religious about wearing masks and stay in their school pod in their basement. They and the health department have no idea where they got it.

While I agree that many many people could be way more careful including the folks uptown yesterday and last evening using only cash, to think that NIU could have stopped this is just plain crazy.

Oh, and maybe we should just have NIU send the check to Buffalo for what we "owe" them for the game we cancelled back in football season after they had already headed to Athens.

Coming in late to this. What it is you are wanting? Just the facts or at least the Reader's Digest version please.

All I'm saying is that our team went to expense and personal risk to fly to Dekalb last Tuesday only to find that NIU cancelled the game. We should at least get expenses for a worthless trip to Dekalb, especially if we go back again for a make-up game. The conference should also consider a forfeit by the cancelling team in such cases as an incentive for players and coaches to comply with covid protocols.

As for Alan's comment about the football coaches who contracted covid, they didn't have to postpone games over it.

And as for Alan's comment about the former occupant of the White House being careful about covid, when was that? He denied covid existed for months, never wore a mask or had any kind of covid protocols for the White House, and probably was responsible for thousands of people getting the virus through his maskless, shoulder-to-shoulder rallies across the country. His lack of a plan to deal with covid led to probably 300,000 needless deaths in this country, maybe more. Don't hold him up as any kind of example of "being careful."

Thanks, I appreciate the response but that was really not directed to you. I can't figure out what Mr.Swank is wanting Ohio or the MAC to do out of all this.

Nothing. I was simply responding to Pataskala's suggestion that there be compensation for us flying to NIU. My argument was that things happen at the last minute like our cancelled game with Buffalo.

I liked what I saw from Granger in this one, and I liked how JP got things done despite shots not falling.

If this group can play D like that, and get some solid rebounding like we saw in this game, I think they're good enough to win this conference. I just don't know if there's enough consistency in those departments to get it done.

Is it consistency or is it the level competition? Winning the rebounding battle v. Ball St. is a lot different than manning up against KSU or UB.
