Shouldn't an accomplishment as rare as someone pulling off a triple-double be automatic to know when you cover the team on a regular basis and in this case have covered the team for years? Found that to be a little odd.

Arkley is mailing in the men's team this year. He loved Saul and had an obvious working relationship with him where he defended him and made every excuse in the book for him. For some reason he does not like Boals and it shows.

I don't subscribe to the Messenger, but I have not seen anything on his Twitter that suggests negativity or unfairness towards Jeff Boals.

This supposed Arkley hard-on for Saul Phillips is really overstated around here.

I think Arkely does a fine job. He seems “all-in” for Ohio to me.

I was completely heart broken when Miami rattled in that 3 with about 20 seconds to go in the 1st half. We were an inch away from having Miami score single digit points in an entire half. It was such a joy to watch. Miami isn't good, but I still love our defense. They struggled to get open looks.

I did not have the Preston triple double on my radar whatsoever, was completely surprised when Lou announced it. He definitely had several good passes but plenty of stinkers too (7 turnovers). I just didn't realize he had so many rebounds.

BVP is so active on the court, I love it. He plays so aggressive defensively while mostly avoiding foul trouble. Boals has to be happy he stuck around.

I think Ben Roderick is a regular 20+ minute player now. I sure hope so...I don't know why but I just see so much positive projection with him. Suffer those growing pains now and set us up well for the fall. He just needs some confidence and swagger. Similar thoughts on Miles Brown, just to a lesser extent. I'd still like to see Foster spell Ogbonda a bit more often too.

All due respect to Springs/Murrell/McMurray...It just feels like we are settling on a rotation of 8. Of which, 4 are true freshmen. If the freshmen keep developing and Dartis starts knocking down 3s...we can make a run.

Completely agree with Shab here. I don't sense any of that either. I re-watched the game on ESPN3 and Russ & Rob also had trouble recalling DJs Triple Double, so it wasn't just Arkley.

I started the count down early in the second half, telling those around me that Jason was 5 rebounds and 4 assists away from a triple double (for example); 2 rebounds, 2 assists away, etc. . . SBH was probably indifferent but his wife appreciated the updates.

The official Ohio Men's Basketball Twitter account even tweeted it was the first in program history. Plenty of people were unsure and I think once that went out others jumped on board with the misinformation. Agree the whole situation was somewhat bizarre.

I'm not much of a basketball strategy or stats guru but I know this much:

It sure feels great to end a slump with a beatdown of Miami!

Even when they said it live I was like "pretty sure DJ had one at least."

BTW would love to see the intro video for the rivalry this year. Coach Boals was really impressed with it and gave a shout out to the production team.

2nd player to accomplish!

Did DJ perhaps have more than one?

That was my point...he tweeted out during the game that Preston was on pace to become the first player in OHIO history to record a triple-double. But it had already been done...by DJ Cooper against University of Portland. I just don't get how he didn't know that before he tweeted.

Actually if we are talking Ohio basketball history not just men’s basketball history, he is the 3rd Erica Johnson had a triple double earlier this season

That is how I felt the first time I saw it too...15 years ago. It is the exact same script and videos, just different players/coaches.

The creative team obviously hasn't hired a Don Draper full of news ideas yet.

I think he was taking about Pol Pot as the hater not the hated, though he certainly was hated by nearly everyone.

OK, since this thread drift has occurred, I'm gonna contribute: Netflix has a movie titled, "First They Killed My Father," based off the memoir of the same name about a child's experience under the Khmer Rouge regime. I haven't yet seen the movie, but the book is very good.
