Message Not Read  So what do we know about the '19-'20 newbies?

I've been tied up at work and with child's wedding past month, I haven't been able to see team with my own eyes...mainly relying on Twitter, game threads here and box scores.

What have you seen? Any feedback greatly appreciated.

(Headed out of country in 4 days for R&R but I'll be sure to check thread when I get occasional WiFi)

I too have only seen a few games but the 3 returning players (not including Murrell who is injured) have carried the team. Dartis’ return is a pleasant surprise and Preston has developed into an elite point guard. VanderPlas is improved as well. Of the newcomers, McDay has looked good. Okbonda has played many minutes but hasn’t stepped up as a scorer or rebounder. Roderick and Price have just returned and, if we are to be any good, they will have to contribute significantly. Also Miles Brown, when he returns, will have to become an adequate replacement for Preston for us to surprise everyone including ourselves and have a great year. I would predict that Foster will see increased playing time since he is looking more comfortable and has been rebounding well.

We have all struggled to find out when injured players will return so we can see how they fit in. At the risk of making a too-early observation, this looks like a well-coached team. When you consider how short a period of time they have been together, the performance thus far has been remarkable.

Good analysis, David.

For the record, I’m writing this response from SLO.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wished we could get together OhioCat. Unfortunately we’re in Portland for the holiday.

How are the guys who left doing? (except Carter who has his own thread)

You know, and this applies to all schools, too many kids get out their "Jump to Conclusions" mat and bolt straight to the transfer portal when a new coach is coming in without hearing him out.

Saw the Detroit highlights and looked like all Preston and Dartis. With some BVP.

Kirk has to sit out a year as a D1 transfer.

Torey James at Cape Fear CC as best I can tell has had some injury troubles as he either plays a full game or plays 0-1 minutes. When in, he has done quite well averaging 18.1 PPG in just 16 minutes per game.

Antonio Cowart has not played at Mississippi College for some reason.
