Unless something has changed recently a D1 school cannot sell tickets to a exhibition vs. another D1 school. They are allowed two so they usually play a D1 team behind closed doors against a team that is supposed to be of similar caliber and a close by non-D1 school as a preview. It will be interesting to see if that results in changes to scheduling philosophy or if the Capital- Heidelberg- Rio Grande type games are the new normal. I believe it is too soon to assume that this is "the new normal". This young team has some formable road opponents. I have a feeling that these early games against "lesser competition" will allow them to gel as a team and find their flow. I, for one, am thankful for this year's scheduling.
