True that. It's not Basketball :30 without Mr. Horvath.

It appears to be the final stats from the last high school game played at The Convo.

HPU travels well. I don't recall ever seeing an opposing band in the Convo.

4th quarter was pure domination. Middle Tenn next, should be at home right?

Miami bounced, Toledo moves on.

Just some random thoughts not just from tonight but the season...

Erica Johnson is so damn smooth. Plays great defense, ball movement, rebounds well. What a player for a freshman. She is a high major caliber player.

Cece is so talented and rebounds so well for her size but can get wreckless with some wacky drives.

Burke is a gem to have on the perimeter, drain the 3 or drive the lane. Deesh Beck is a beast of a freshman. Burris is an all-around asset.

AND THEY'RE ALL BACK NEXT YEAR.

That was just pure fun to watch.

Both teams shooting lights out in the first half, and then Cat domination in the 4th!

Some quick takes:

A hard-nosed game by both teams.

We didn’t play our A game but played well enough to take down a well disciplined High Point team that shot well and beat us in the paint.

Our big offensive run in the 4th was the difference.

No Lou tonight.

Nice gesture award goes to the Ohio band, handing out pizza to the High Point band at halftime, then intermingling with them.

Decent crowd but the students were a no show. Pathetic.

Bolden will need lozenges tonight for his first half, time-out rants on their sloppy offense, as well all game verbal attacks on the refs, which were well deserved.

Drake Bolon was in the house.

All 5 starters in double figures, always a good sign.

For what it's worth, of the 64 teams, we have the most wins.

Go OHIO

Agree, that was a fun atmosphere at the game tonight. I was fortunate to meet some HP fans. And thanked them for coming, as I do for any travelers visiting. They pulled it off and finished well. I tried to look it up yet unsuccessful. any word or times for the second round? I would prefer not to play MTS. Nice to mention Lou, he would have been fun. the problem is there were next to zero students to pump up. disappointing.

Not only the band but cheerleaders too. I talked with several fans who drove all the way up just for the game. One of the better traveling fan bases I have seen. Nice folks and the band was a hoot. Very energetic.

for sure. understandably the marching 25 were kind enough to allow their band to play and share pizza, hehe. I must say the cheerleaders were lackluster tonight during the runs in the second half and fourth quarter.

PA was not a WNIT employee, but a fill in for Lou as he’s on vacation.

Tournament game was a “neutral site, band had equal time as this was not for the record a home game.

I follow, although I considered this a home game rather than a "neutral site". I had fun. I see we are playing Middle Tennessee State U. TBD. should be in the roundhouse, I assume Saturday

Correct. Lou on vacation in Italy. Anyone know where the fill-in guy came from? He wasn't terrible...but he ain't Lou.

Did you read what I wrote an hour before you posted this? 2:00pm Sunday at The Convo.

So we say once more. Three hours before you posted this and seven posts above it. 2pm Sunday at The Convo. Anybody want to ask again?

Thanks for the correction, I fixed it. I made an incorrect assumption. This guy was professional, did a nice job, but please don't call us Ohio U. The last tourney game played here, a few years ago, Lou did the announcing although he did so straight up.

My favorite player to watch. Her game is already so complete. She's going to be amazing as she matures and improves.

I got no emails. I saw no promotions to get student turn out. And the "Womens game tonight" banner (or whatever it says) wasn't up outside the Convo. I get that it was a fairly short turnaround from Saturday to Thursday but it looks, from my standpoint, like there wasn't much effort to drum up interest and turnout.

As for the game, it was really entertaining. Both teams shot a ridiculous clip in the first half, especially HP at nearly 60%. And it wasn't like they were all layups, they were making some tough shots. It was different having opposing cheer squad and band there, but that made it a little more fun IMO. High Point had a better fan turnout than I expected, but maybe that had more to do with several players on their roster being from Ohio. The officiating...I didn't think was very good. Hooks looked like to me she was getting a LOT of contact on her drives to the hoop and very few calls. Johnson made a few shots in the lane with lots of contact that should have been and-1's. And for as rough as they let the game be played, there was a stretch late in the 3rd/early 4th that they called several hand check type fouls with minimal contact. I mean, if you're going to let them play, let them play. Just be consistent. I really thought Hooks getting her 4th (in frustration after not getting a foul call on a drive) might send us in a tail spin, but our ladies actually put on a good spurt right after Hooks had to sit.

Let's keep this thing rolling as long as we can, go get another win on Sunday.

Interesting, indeed. Update- I just received 3 emails regarding a get together planned for Sunday pregame at The Ohio University Inn. It appears to be a joint effort of the Bobcat Club and Alumni Office.
