I like this team's versatility but I think we need to see the threes falling early in the Q to get us on the right track for Saturday. Bolden will have them prepared, Hooks will bring the effort, and if we play good defense and shoot decently from three I like our chances.

Go 'Cats.

Agreed, and I think a key will be if our Athens gal, Doseck, can get cranking from three. I saw one game where she literally took the game over and rained down threes from every section of the area beyond the arc. I've also noticed in recent games that she has sometimes been a floor general directing the other women and telling them where to position themselves on the floor, both on the offensive and defensive ends. The coach in her is coming out already!

Can we pin this?

EMU neck and neck with #1 CMU at the moment.

Looks like OT for CMU, buzzer beating 3 to force OT.

Wow. CMU hits a 3 at the end to tie. To OT we go. CMU was down 3 most of the last 30 seconds and EMU elected to keep fouling CMU so they couldn't tie, but abandoned that idea on the last possession for no good reason.

And it probably cost them their season.

CMU will advance. Hudson's three to force OT saved their bacon.

Nice win gals! Let win another one on Friday!

A few questions: It seemed to me in the 4th Quarter that we played the clock more than any time I can remember. Did others notice this? Are my observations correct? Was it a good strategy?

Pretty typical for our team this year. We’ve done similar clock running in a bunch of other games and I still don’t like it. I know we did it heavily against Purdue and there was a MAC game, too. Kent St maybe. We run clock and almost never get a quality shot. It’s like running the prevent defense in football. I’d rather play our game and keep the foot on the gas pedal, but I’m not Bob.

You're correct. We started burning clock. Did not push tempo in the 4th much.

Watched first half of Miami vs Toledo. As others have pointed out, the talent in this league is very good. Miami won and will be a handful for the Cats Friday.

I did watch most of the 3rd and all of 4th quarter of the Purdue game. When I tuned it in we had a huge lead, which Purdue kept chipping away at. You may be correct that we were using a lot of clock, but I didn't notice it as much as today. In the Purdue game it just looked to me like we were not making shots down the stretch. The stall wasn't as obvious, at least to me, if that's what was occurring.

The top 4 seeds make the semifinals. I think this is the best possible situation for the MAC. Here Is my NCAA prediction vs outcomes:

1. CMU and Ohio win: CMU and Ohio make the NCAA
2. CMU and Miami wins with Miami winning Championship: CMU and Miami to NCAA
3. CMU and Miami wins with CMU winning Championship: only CMU
4. Buffalo and Ohio win: CMU and Ohio and Buffalo to NCAA
5. Buffalo and Miami wins with Miami winning Championship: CMU and Miami and Buffalo to NCAA
6. Buffalo and Miami wins with Buffalo winning Championship: Buffalo and CMU to NCAA

Só options 4 and 5 are the best for the MAC. option 3 is the worst!

You probably are pretty close on that from all of the prognostications I've seen. Central Michigan is in no matter what. If Ohio and Buffalo lose in this round, they are sweating it out and a very good chance one or both don't make it. Miami probably has to win the tournament to get in.

No. Fiami winning the tournament is not an option.

Could this be the best final 4 in the history of MAC basketball?

[QUOTE=Andrew Ruck] Could this be the best final 4 in the history of MAC basketball? [/QUOTE

I'd have to say yes. Three could Dance as indicated above. I'm sure that's never happened, men or women. On a given night, of course, any one of these teams could win it. I'm guessing we beat Miami and lose to Buffalo. If so, we'll have to hold our breaths Sunday.
